‘Despicable’ Anti-Semitic Attack in Moldova Merits Strong Response by Government and Church

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today urged the government of Moldova and the leadership of the Orthodox Church to punish those responsible for uprooting a Hanukkah menorah on a main public square in Moldova’s capital, Chisinau, and replacing it with an Orthodox cross.

A video shows an Orthodox priest, identified by the Moldovan media as Fr. Anatoliy Chirbik, leading a demonstration of about 100 people yesterday at Stefan the Great Square and saying, “We are an Orthodox country. Stephan the Great defended our country from all kinds of kikes [ha ha, sounds like a Jew-media lie. He probably just said, "Jews"], and now they come and put their menorah here. This is anarchy.” The priest and demonstrators then uprooted the menorah and dumped it behind a statue of Moldovan national hero King Stefan the Great. [What an insult to St Stefan!]

“The Moldovan government and the Orthodox Church must punish the perpetrators of this despicable anti-Semitic [sic] crime and send a clear signal to Moldovan society and to the Jewish community that the government and the church will not tolerate anti-Semitism [sic],” said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. [Foxman must stick his head back in the toilet.]

In a letter to Nicolae Chirtoaca, Moldova’s Ambassador to the United States, ADL called on his government “to apprehend and punish the perpetrators of this anti-Semitic [sic] crime.” The League said it was particularly shocked at reports that 15 to 20 police officers were at the site during the protest, but did little to intervene. [On what grounds? Because ADL-approved methods weren't applied: Jewish lawyers arguing before Jewish judges about how deeply, deeply offended they are to have to see a Cross and be reminded that Jesus Christ the Son of God lives forever?]

ADL also expressed disappointment with the official statement from leaders of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, who called the attack “a sad event.”

“The reported reaction of the Orthodox Church falls far short of a vigorous condemnation,” Mr. Foxman said. “The church needs to make clear that this sort of behavior is unacceptable, and should take action to punish any church officials who were involved in organizing the demonstration, including Fr. Chirbik.” [Maybe they have taken action, then forgave the people involved. You'd think the ADL would be too busy buying politicians, raping America, pissing on Christ and trying to justify the genocide of the Palestinians to bother with a minor matter in a faraway land.]

Moldova Justice Minister Alexandru Tenase was quoted by Moldova’s Publik TV as saying the government would not tolerate the desecration of religious objects and “will apply the harshest penalties to discourage anyone attempting similar actions.” [There you go. So what the fuck are these defamatory ADL bastards complaining about!?]

The Hanukkah menorah was erected by members of the local Jewish community. The menorah, which stands 5-feet tall, was reinstalled and is now under police protection.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Yaacov Agam Friday lit the World’s Largest Chanukah Menorah in Manhattam.

It proudly stands at New York’s most fashionable plaza, Fifth Avenue and 59th Street, by Central Park, between the Plaza and the Pierre Hotels.

“The Menorah stands as a symbol of freedom and democracy, strength and inspiration delivering a timely and poignant message to each person on an individual basis,” said Rabbi Shmuel Butman, who will light the Menorah nightly together with other dignitaries.

The Menorah, certified by the McGinnis Book of Records as the World’s Largest, is sponsored by the Lubavitch Youth Organization.

Its designer renowned artist Yaacov Agam said it was inspired by a hand drawing by the Rambam of the original Menorah in the Holy Temple of Jerusalem.

The Menorah stood in miniature on the desk of the Rebbe who personally Ok’d its form. The Rebbe wanted this Menorah to be the largest and when there was talk about making a large Menorah in another city the Rebbe asked for that Menorah to be smaller.

The 32-foot high, gold colored, 4,000 pound steel structure will be lighted nightly with genuine oil lamps. Specially designed glass chimneys will protect the Chanukah lights from the Central Park winds. Unlike the phony “chimney” next to the phony “gas chamber” at Auschwitz, NY’s Jewish chimney actually works.

Due to the height of the Menorah, it will be lit nightly with the help of a Con Edison “cherry-picker” crane as well as two lifts that will lift the lighters to the “Menorah Heights.”

Mayor Bloomberg addressed the crowd from the “Menorah Heights” spoke about the meaning of the Festival of lights and what it meant to him as a Jew.

Bob Seirup, a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission, though not Jewish, said he came to Tuesday’s lighting “to show my solidarity and support.”

After a brief prayer by Cantor Avi Schwarzmer, Rabbi J. Stock climbed a ladder bearing a torch, and lit five of the eight candles that, in this case, were actually flares.

“This is a beautiful outpouring of community support,” First Selectman Kenneth Flatto said. “The whole point of this holiday is the celebration of freedom of religion.”

TAUNTON, Mass. (AP) – An 8-year-old boy was sent home from school and ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation after he was asked to make a Christmas drawing and sketched what appeared to be a stick figure of Jesus on a cross, the child’s father said Tuesday.

Chester Johnson said his son made the drawing on Dec. 2 after his second-grade teacher asked children to sketch something that reminded them of the holiday. The assignment came just days after the family had visited the holiday lights display at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro, where Johnson said his son seemed taken with the religious statues he saw there.

“When he seen the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross, that’s what he drew,” Johnson said. “He liked that. That drew his eye.”

Johnson, who works at the school as a janitor on a per diem basis, said administrators were concerned the boy drew Xs for Jesus’ eyes, and particularly worried when his son said he’d drawn himself on the cross after officials pressed him about who he’d drawn.

Johnson said his son might have been worried about getting in trouble if he said he drew Jesus. “If he said it was him, it was more like a cartoon,” Johnson said.

Superintendent Julie Hackett said she could not discuss an individual student and did not address the drawing specifically or the teacher’s reaction to it, but did say the school has safety protocols in place that were followed.

Hackett did not return multiple calls from The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Johnson said his son gets specialized reading and speech instruction. He showed a reporter an evaluation that said the boy was not a threat to himself or others. The boy has been back in school since Dec. 7.

Johnson said he assured his son that he didn’t do anything wrong, but he said his boy was traumatized by the incident and demanding an apology from school officials. Johnson said he’s also looking to have his son transferred to another school.

“You can’t walk back in an establishment that didn’t have confidence in you … and continue to do business with them,” he said. “He’s been excluded from all the other kids, man.”

Nira and Yaron had been trying to have a baby for eight years. They did everything – in-vitro fertilizations, egg donations, treatments in Israel and abroad. Nothing worked. The only way they would be able to have a family was by adoption. The Taf adoption agency found a baby for them after a few weeks of searches, and they were called to Belarus to adopt an abandoned 11-month-old baby boy. Their happiness knew no bounds.

When they returned to Israel, they immediately began the process of having the baby converted to Judaism. They turned to the rabbinic court in Ashkelon, the seat of the head of the conversion administration, Rabbi Yosef Avior. The rabbi told them that if they wanted to have the baby converted, they would have to become observant Jews. The couple told Avior that they live a secular lifestyle but that they observe commandments: Yaron puts on phylacteries every morning and Nira observes the basic commandments for women. Nira and Yaron pledged in writing at the meeting that they would raise little Yair in the same way. It took a while, but at the age of 17 months, Yair underwent circumcision with the approval of the conversion administration.

When Yair got older, the couple decided to adopt another child. They raised the money, NIS 160,000, from family and friends and flew to Belarus again. When they returned to Israel with Yair’s little brother, Dan, once again they went to see Rabbi Avior. This time, he refused. “I do not recall that the older brother goes to a religious school,” he said, adding that until that happened, he would not covert the baby.

It turns out that Nira and Yaron are not alone. The rabbinate in Israel requires adopted children to go to Orthodox schools, and many parents produce false certificates to overcome this obstacle. However, Nira did not want to lie, and the parents decided to register their son in a religious school.

But Yair wept bitterly when he heard he would have to leave his school friends and move to an Orthodox school far from home. Nira went back to the rabbi and said she could not send him to an Orthodox school after all. The rabbi then said that if she did not, he would revoke Yair’s Jewish status. He maintained his refusal to convert Dan.

“The rabbis told me, ‘at home you can pray to a statue and eat pork; the child has to go to a religious school,” Nira said.

After several months, the rabbis also turned down Nira’s request to perform and supervise Dan’s circumcision ceremony. The couple therefore paid for a private procedure, at a cost of NIS 4,000.

“This is clearly religious coercion,” Yaron says. “I am no less good a Jew than a religious person. We went to the army, we observe commandments, we work hard and we went through hell until we received these children. Why are they doing this to us? Who are they to say whether we are Jewish enough?”

His wife, Nira, says, “I asked Avior why he was doing this to me. He answered, ‘it’s not me, it’s halakha [Jewish law].’ I have girlfriends who don’t even believe in God. They’re allowed to raise children here?”

The irony in this story comes to the fore in a letter sent to adoptive parents when they return to Israel: Under letterhead reading: “Prime Minister’s Office – Conversion Administration – Special Rabbinic Tribunals for Conversion,” the letter congratulates the parents with the Talmudic maxim: “He who raises an orphan in his home is regarded as if he had actually brought him into this world.” It seems that words are one thing and actions are another.

The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that Yair’s Jewish status was not at all in question and therefore had not been rescinded, and the conversion of his brother had not yet started.

“The special sensitivity of the conversion of children is clear to the heads of the conversion administration, particularly in the case of adopted children. Therefore the conversion administration established a special panel in the conversion tribunal that is expert in the matter of children’s conversions. The panel acts according to the personal directives of the head of the conversion administration, Rabbi Haim Druckman,” the statement said.

What To Do With Them?

Susan Abulhawa’s main point is that a nation should not discriminate on the basis of religion. I disagree with her. A nation can and should discriminate according to whatever criteria the people of that ation see fit to apply. However, it is absurd that Israelis discriminate on the basis of religion, since they thereby discriminate against the people whose land they occupy, and because such discrimination is contrary to the declared principles of the nation that Israel is a parasite of.

If Israel claims some mystical “right” to maintain a “Jewish State” then of course it has no right to exist. If that’s what they wanted, then they should have gone off to some less contentious and less populated part of the globe and created their “homeland”. They can’t just show up as strangers in the Holy Land, after getting the dumb Brits to steal it for them, and then start making all the rules. Well, of course they did just that. But enough is enough.

And of course it’s ridiculous that Jews prattle on about human rights all of the world, while the Jewish State is based on discrimination and dispossession.

Abulhawa says that “a nation that discriminates against and oppresses those who do not belong to a particular religious, racial, or ethnic group is not a light onto nations. It is a blight.” However, the Talmudic belief is that The Tribe is in fact a light unto nations precisely by discriminating against and oppressing the inhuman goyim. They believe this to be their divine obligation.

She writes, “to recognize such racism as a human or national right goes against every tenet of international law.” Actually it doesn’t. She just thinks it does because she’s American and so has come to think its normal that a nation is obliged to commit democide, as the Jews and Freemasons have brainwashed the White nations into believing.

She writes that, “the worth of a human being should not be measured by their religion.” Well this is quite intolerant of Judaism, which “teaches” that only a Jew is a human being.

In spite of all this, Abulhawa graciously allows these racial supremacists the right to remain in her homeland when it is eventually restored to native rule. This is very admirable. Most people would just drive the invaders out, if they had the chance. Any Palestininian who can tolerate the idea of millions of Jews being permitted to remain in a United Palestine, after so many decades of mistreatment, deserves a real peace prize.

In Canada, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said it is “hateful” to deny Israel’s “right to exist”. Canada, which bombed the hell out of Belgrade, denied Serbia’s right to exist in Kosovo, denied Yugoslavia’s right to exist, denied Respublika Srpska’s right to exist, denied Nazi Germany’s right to exist, occupies Afghanistan, and denies Palestine’s and Kurdistan’s and Abkhazia’s and South Ossetia’s right to exist, dares to label you “a hater” just because you don’t kowtow to Jews.

Where is it written that “Israel has a right to exist”?

Does Israel Really Have a Right to Exist?

Following Netanyahu’s much anticipated policy speech, politicians and journalists, like mindless automatons, have set about repeating Israel’s tired mantra that Palestinians should recognize Israel’s right to exist. Never mind the fact that the PLO and Palestine Authority have obliged this ludicrous call, not once, but four times. And never mind that Israel has always denied Palestine’s right to exist, not only as a nation, but as individuals seeking a dignified life in our own homeland.

Does anyone find it interesting that Israel is the only country on the planet going around with this incessant insistence that everyone recognize her right to exist? Given that we Palestinians are the ones who have been dispossessed, occupied, and oppressed, one might expect that we should be the ones making such a demand. But that isn’t the case. Why? Because our right to exist as a nation is self-evident. We are the natives of that land! We know we have that right. The world knows it. That’s why Palestine doesn’t need Israel or any other country to recognize her right to exist. We are the rightful heirs to that land and this can be verified legally, historically, culturally, and even genetically. And as such, the only true legitimacy Israel will ever have must come from us abdicating our inheritance, our history, and our culture to Israel. That’s why Israel insists we declare she had a right to take everything we ever had – from home and property, cemeteries, churches and mosques, to culture and history and hope.

Israel is a country that was founded by Europeans who came to Palestine, formed terrorist gangs who set about a systematic ethnic cleansing of the native Palestinians from their homes on 78% of Historic Palestine in 1948. Those Palestinians and their descendants still languish in refugee camps. Israel attempted a similar scenario in 1967 when they conquered the remainder of Palestine, but Palestinians then couldn’t be dislodged from their homes as easily. This remains true, despite 40 years of Israel’s violent and oppressive military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. Despite home demolitions, land confiscations, rapacious building of Jewish-only colonies, endless checkpoints, targeted assassinations, bombings of schools, hospitals, municipal buildings and malls, closures and denials; despite the massive human rights abuses, the imprisonment and torture of men women and children alike, the separation of families, the daily humiliations; despite the massive killings – Palestinians remain. We still resist. We still live, love, and have babies. As much as we can, we rebuild what Israel destroys. Such are rights!

Rights are inherent and inherently just, like the right to live with dignity and to be masters of one’s own fate. It is a human right not be persecuted and oppressed because you happen to belong to one religion and not another.

That Israelis simply take property belonging to Palestinians is not a right. That is theft. That Israel cut off the movement of food, medicine and other basic goods to the Gaza strip, causing massive malnutrition, economic collapse and misery because Palestinians elected particular leaders is not a right. That is an affront to humanity. That Israel rain death from the skies on an already battered and starved Gaza, murdering over 3000 human beings and maiming thousands more in a single month is not a right. It’s a war crime. That Israel has employed every imperialistic tactic to subjugate, humiliate, break, and expel an entire nation of principally unarmed civilians because of their religion is not a right. It is a moral obscenity. That every Jew from Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Australia be entitled to dual citizenship, one in their native country and one in Israel, while the rightful heirs to the land linger as refugees without citizenship anywhere is not a right. It is an outrage.

I’m sure my words will be twisted in some way to imply that I’m advocating pushing Israelis “into the sea” or some other asinine claim. So let me be explicit: We all have the right to exist, to live, to be masters of our own destiny. We all have the right not to be oppressed by others. Such rights are inherent to every individual living in that land: Jew, Muslim, or Christian. But Israelis do not have the right to create particular religious demographics by causing the demise of the natives. To be a Jewish [or Muslim or Christian] state, where privilege is accorded to those belonging to a particular religion at the expense of those who do not is not a right.

A nation that discriminates against and oppresses those who do not belong to a particular religious, racial, or ethnic group is not a light onto nations. It is a blight. And to recognize such racism as a human or national right goes against every tenet of international law. It defies the basic sense that the worth of a human being should not be measured by their religion, any more than it should be measured by the color of their skin or the language they speak.

Moshe Zimmerman’s film “Pizza in Auschwitz” will be screened at the Mauthausen concentration camp on December 9th in the presence of [captive] Austrian high school students.

Prior to the screening torture, the movie will also be presented at the This Human World festival in Vienna. The film’s main character, Holocaust survivor Daniel Chanoch, will be present at both screenings.

Chanoch, an eccentric and belligerent figure, views the Mauthausen screening as an achievement.

“Toady [sic] I have a highly importantly educational and informative role to play,” he says. … “This camp was the head of the snake, it was among the most terrible camps. The living conditions there were extremely difficult and the Germans used to prepare soups cooked with human flesh for the prisoners. I was only a kid, but this is a sight I will never forget.”

In six days, inside one van, father, children and a film crew travel ‘that’ Europe, traversing the terrain where Danny was forced to ‘camp’ again and again. When they reach Birkenau, the ‘final destination’ [that obviously wasn't his final destination, unless he has a heart attack while holidaying there for the 57th time], Danny wants to fulfill a life-long fantasy: to spend the night in his old barracks, on his old bunk, with his own children. Around a tray of pizza, bought in the nearby town of Auschwitz [I hope those evil Polacks didn't put human flesh on the pizza!], father and children have the inevitable blow-out filled with black humor and great pain. Before deciding who to marry — the most important decision of one’s life — it makes sense to find out what’s been driving the Jewish people to greatness the past 3,000 years. Here are four suggestions:

• Attend a Discovery Seminar. This gives an excellent overall view of Jewish history and philosophy — and answers the question, “Why be Jewish?”
• Try a Shabbat experience.
• Visit Israel. The experience of visiting Israel is the quintessential act of Jewish self-discovery…in an “all-Jewish” environment [pity about all those damn Arabs in their own land!]
• Read the book, Why Marry Jewish? [But they say dirty shiksas shouldn't marry Jews. This is confusing.]

As the saying goes, have the family jewels appraised before you sell them forever.

Take a Break

The foundation of a good marriage is shared background and goals.

In considering intermarriage, the best advice is to have a three-month trial separation. This means a complete separation with no communication. [Apartheid.] Spend the time investigating Judaism and pondering the question: “Do I need to be married to this person to find happiness in life? Without that trial separation, it is impossible to have clarity about the right thing to do.

Those who cannot handle a full separation should at least agree to no physical contact for three months. See the real person and deal with him/her on a level unencumbered by the physical involvement. If even doing this is too much, then chances are this relationship is based on infatuation and that means it is weak at the core.

In contemplating intermarriage, it is crucial to take some quiet time and ask the following questions, developed by Rabbi Kalman Packouz. Answering these questions honestly should help set a clear path.

• All things being equal, would you prefer to marry someone Jewish?

• What are some of the differences between your family and your potential spouse’s family?

• Does your potential spouse want to observe any of the non-Jewish holidays? How do you feel about this?

• Would your potential spouse want any symbols of their religion in your home? How do you feel about this?

• Do you feel proud when you hear about the achievements of other Jews? [Proverbs 16:18: לפני-שבר גאון, ולפני כשלון גבה רוח]

• When there is a terrorist attack in Israel, do you feel connected to the victims? Does your potential spouse share that feeling?

• Do you have an emotional reaction when you hear an ethnic joke putting down Jews, or hear the words “Hitler” or “Nazi“? Does your potential spouse share that feeling? [Actually, scientific studies have confirmed that the average Jew says "Hitler" 5.6 times a day, and "Nazi" 7.3 times a day; while non-Jews generally have trouble even hearing these words.]

• Do you want to be buried in a Jewish cemetery? If you, God [not "G-d"?] forbid, lost a child, would you want him/her buried in a Jewish cemetery?

• How will you feel if your non-Jewish spouse surprises you by deciding to raise the children according to their religion?

• Does your potential spouse or their family dislike Jews in general, but feel that you are different than most Jews?

• Does your physical attraction for this person perhaps prevent you from being aware of problems which may cause difficulties later?

• Are you afraid that if you do not marry this person you will have a hard time finding someone else to marry? [i.e. Are you ugly?]

• Given all the challenges, would you be better off looking for someone else to marry?

This is not a guilt-trip. This is an issue of practical reality. It is a documented fact that intermarried couples have a higher divorce rate, estimated at 70 percent. Would someone ever consider going into a business with a partner who carries this risk of failure?

Every Jewish soul has a Jewish soul mate. There are many avenues to meet that match. Marrying the right person is largely based on the effort we make. Do some networking, inquire about Jewish singles programs in town, and post a profile on jdate.com.

It is possible to “have it all” — a wonderful committed relationship, free of built-in liabilities, and a Jewish life with Jewish children. Why settle for anything less?

Britain’s secret torture centre

The interrogation camp that turned prisoners into living skeletons

Despite the six years of bitter fighting which lay behind him, James Morgan-Jones, a major in the Royal Artillery, could not have been more specific about the spectacle in front of him. “It was,” he reported, “one of the most disgusting sights of my life.”

Curled up on a bed in a hospital in Rotenburg, near Bremen, was a cadaverous shadow of a human being. “The man literally had no flesh on him, his state of emaciation was incredible,” wrote Morgan-Jones. This man had weighed a little over six stones (38kg) on admission five weeks earlier, and “was still a figure which may well have been one of the Belsen inmates”. At the base of his spine “was a huge festering sore”, and he was clearly terrified of returning to the prison where he had been brought so close to death. “If ever a man showed fear – he did,” Morgan-Jones declared.

Adolf Galla, 36, a dental technician, was not alone. A few beds away lay Robert Buttlar, 27, a journalist, who had been admitted after swallowing a spoon handle in a suicide attempt at the same prison. He too was emaciated and four of his toes had been lost to frostbite.

The previous month, January 1947, two other inmates, Walter Bergmann, 20, and Franz Osterreicher, 38, had died of malnutrition within hours of arriving at the hospital. Over the previous 13 months, Major Morgan-Jones learned, 45 inmates of this prison, including several women, had been dumped at Rotenburg. Each was severely starved, frostbitten, and caked in dirt. Some had been beaten or whipped.

The same week that Major Morgan-Jones was submitting his report, a British doctor called Jordan was raising similar concerns at an internment camp 130 miles away. Dr Jordan complained to his superiors that eight men who had been transferred from the same prison “were all suffering gross malnutrition … one in my opinion dying”.

They included Gerhard Menzel, 23, a 6ft German former soldier who weighed seven stones, and was described as a living skeleton. Another, admitted as Morice Marcellini, a 27-year-old Frenchman, later transpired to be Alexander Kalkowski, a captain in the Soviet secret police, the NKVD. He weighed a little over eight stones, and complained that he had been severely beaten and forced to spend eight hours a day in a cold bath.

Prisoners complained thumbscrews and “shin screws” were employed at the prison and Dr Jordan’s report highlighted the small, round scars that he had seen on the legs of two men, “which were said to be the result of the use of some instrument to facilitate questioning”. One of these men was Hans Habermann, a 43-year-old disabled German Jew who had survived three years in Buchenwald concentration camp.

All of these men had been held at Bad Nenndorf, a small, once-elegant spa resort near Hanover. Here, an organisation called the Combined Services Detailed Interrogation Centre (CSDIC) ran a secret prison following the British occupation of north-west Germany in 1945.

CSDIC, a division of the War Office, operated interrogation centres around the world, including one known as the London Cage, located in one of London’s most exclusive neighbourhoods. Official documents discovered last month at the National Archives at Kew, south-west London, show that the London Cage was a secret torture centre where German prisoners who had been concealed from the Red Cross were beaten, deprived of sleep, and threatened with execution or with unnecessary surgery.

As horrific as conditions were at the London Cage, Bad Nenndorf was far worse. Last week, Foreign Office files which have remained closed for almost 60 years were opened after a request by the Guardian under the Freedom of Information Act. These papers, and others declassified earlier, lay bare the appalling suffering of many of the 372 men and 44 women who passed through the centre during the 22 months it operated before its closure in July 1947.

They detail the investigation carried out by a Scotland Yard detective, Inspector Tom Hayward, following the complaints of Major Morgan-Jones and Dr Jordan. Despite the precise and formal prose of the detective’s report to the military government, anger and revulsion leap from every page as he turns his spotlight on a place where prisoners were systematically beaten and exposed to extreme cold, where some were starved to death and, allegedly, tortured with instruments that his fellow countrymen had recovered from a Gestapo prison in Hamburg. Even today, the Foreign Office is refusing to release photographs taken of some of the “living skeletons” on their release.

Initially, most of the detainees were Nazi party members or former members of the SS, rounded up in an attempt to thwart any Nazi insurgency. A significant number, however, were industrialists, tobacco importers, oil company bosses or forestry owners who had flourished under Hitler.

By late 1946, the papers show, an increasing number were suspected Soviet agents. Some were NKVD officers – Russians, Czechs and Hungarians – but many were simply German leftists. Others were Germans living in the Russian zone who had crossed the line, offered to spy on the Russians, and were tortured to establish whether they were genuine defectors.

One of the men who was starved to death, Walter Bergmann, had offered to spy for the British, and fell under suspicion because he spoke Russian. Hayward reported: “There seems little doubt that Bergmann, against whom no charge of any crime has ever been made, but on the contrary, who appears to be a man who has given every assistance, and that of considerable value, has lost his life through malnutrition and lack of medical care”.

The other man who starved to death, Franz Osterreicher, had been arrested with forged papers while attempting to enter the British zone in search of his gay lover. Hayward said that “in his struggle for existence or to get extra scraps of food he stood a very poor chance” at Bad Nenndorf.

Many of Bad Nenndorf’s inmates were there for no reason at all. One, a former diplomat, remained locked up because he had “learned too much about our interrogation methods”. Another arrived after a clerical error, and was incarcerated for eight months. As Inspector Hayward reported: “There are a number against whom no offence has been alleged, and the only authority for their detention would appear to be that they are citizens of a country still nominally at war with us.”

Today, the older people of Bad Nenndorf talk about August 1 1945, the day the British arrived, with undisguised bitterness. A convoy of trucks pulled into the village, and the Tommies took over from an easygoing US infantry division. Within hours, the British had ordered everybody in the centre of the village to pack their belongings and leave. Bad Nenndorf was heaving with refugees from the bomb-ravaged ruins of Hanover, 18 miles to the east: hundreds of people were given 90 minutes to pack some food and valuables, and get out.

“We thought everyone would be allowed back in a few days,” recalls Walter Münstermann, now a retired newspaperman, but then a 14-year-old. “Then the soldiers started putting barbed wire fences around the centre of the village, and slowly we began to realise that this was going to be no ordinary camp.”

Walter and his neighbours realised that the centre of their village was being transformed into a prison camp when they heard that the British were converting a large, 40-year-old bath-house, ripping out the baths and installing heavy steel doors to turn each cubicle into a cell. They saw the first batch of prisoners arrive in the back of a truck. Later groups arrived at the village railway station in cattle trucks.

Ingrid Groth, then a seven-year-old, said locals claimed that if you crept up to the barbed wire at night, you could hear the prisoners’ screams. Mr Münstermann, who passed the main gate on his way to school each day, insists that the opposite was true: that it was a sinister place precisely because “you never, ever saw anyone, and you never heard a sound”. Among the people of Lower Saxony, Bad Nenndorf became known as das verbotene dorf – the forbidden village.

The commanding officer was Robin “Tin Eye” Stephens, 45, a monocled colonel of the Peshawar Division of the Indian Army who had been seconded to MI5 in 1939, and who had commanded Camp 020, a detention centre in Surrey where German spies had been interrogated during the war.

An authoritarian and a xenophobe with a legendary temper, Stephens boasted that interrogators who could “break” a man were born, and not made. Of the 20 interrogators ordered to break the inmates of Bad Nenndorf, 12 were British, a combination of officers from the three services and civilian linguists. The remaining eight included a Pole and a Dutchman, but were mostly German Jewish refugees who had enlisted on the outbreak of war, and who, Inspector Hayward suggested, “might not be expected to be wholly impartial”.

Most of the warders were soldiers barely out of their teens. Some had endured more than a year of combat, at the end of which they had liberated Belsen. Some represented the more unruly elements of the British Army of the Rhine, sent to Bad Nenndorf after receiving suspended sentences for assault or desertion. Often, Hayward said, they were the sort of individuals “likely to resort to violence on helpless men”.

The inmates were starved, woken during the night, and forced to walk up and down their cells from early morning until late at night. When moving about the prison they were expected to run, while soldiers kicked them. One warder, a soldier of the Welsh Regiment, told Hayward: “If a British soldier feels inclined to treat a prisoner decently he has every opportunity to do so; and he also has the opportunity to ill-treat a prisoner if he so desires”.

The Foreign Office briefed Clement Attlee, the prime minister, that “the guards had apparently been instructed to carry out physical assaults on certain prisoners with the object of reducing them to a state of physical collapse and of making them more amenable to interrogation”.

Former prisoners told Hayward that they had been whipped as well as beaten. This, the detective said, seemed unbelievable, until “our inquiries of warders and guards produced most unexpected corroboration”. Threats to execute prisoners, or to arrest, torture and murder their wives and children were considered “perfectly proper”, on the grounds that such threats were never carried out.

Moreover, any prisoner thought to be uncooperative during interrogation was taken to a punishment cell where they would be stripped and repeatedly doused in water. This punishment could continue for weeks, even in sub-zero temperatures.

Naked prisoners were handcuffed back-to-back and forced to stand before open windows in midwinter. Frostbite became common. One victim of the cold cell punishment was Buttlar, who swallowed the spoon handle to escape. An anti-Nazi, he had spent two years as a prisoner of the Gestapo. “I never in all those two years had undergone such treatments,” he said.

Kalkowski, the NKVD officer, claimed that toenails were ripped out and that he had been hung from his wrists during interrogation, with weights tied to his legs. British NCOs, he alleged, would beat him with rubber truncheons “while the interrogating officers went for lunch”. Hayward concluded, however, that “there was not a shred of evidence to support these allegations”.

Whatever was happening during the interrogations must have been widely known among many of the camp’s officers and men. In common with every CSDIC prison, each cell was bugged, so that the prisoners’ private utterances could be matched against their “confessions”.

Inspector Hayward’s investigation led to the courts martial of Stephens, Captain John Smith, Bad Nenndorf’s medical officer, and an interrogator, Lieutenant Richard Langham. The hearings were largely held behind closed doors. A number of sergeants – men who had carried out the beatings – were told they would be pardoned if they gave evidence against their officers.

Langham, who had been born in Munich and fled to England with his parents in 1934, at the age of 13, denied that he had mistreated prisoners and was acquitted. Charges of manslaughter against Smith were dropped but, after a court martial held entirely in secret, he was found guilty of the neglect of inmates and sentenced, at the age of 49, to be dismissed the service.

It is unclear whether any of Stephens’s superiors knew, or condoned, what had happened at Bad Nenndorf, although his lawyers said they were prepared to spread the blame among senior army officers and Foreign Office officials. Before his court martial began there was nervous debate among ministers and government officials about how to avoid the repercussions which would follow, should the truth become known.

Ministers were anxious that nobody should learn that CSDIC was running a number of similar prisons in Germany. There was also what the chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Frank Pakenham, later to become Lord Longford, described as “the fact that we are alleged to have treated internees in a manner reminiscent of the German concentration camps”. The army, meanwhile, said it was determined the Soviets should not discover “how we apprehended and treated their agents”, not least because some would-be defectors might have second thoughts.

Finally, there was the inevitable fall-out for Attlee’s Labour government. As Hector McNeill, foreign minister, pointed out in a memo to Ernest Bevin, the foreign secretary: “I doubt if I can put too strongly the parliamentary consequences of publicity. Whenever we have any allegations to make about the political police methods in Eastern European states it will be enough to call out in the House ‘Bad Nenndorf’, and no reply is left to us.”

Stephens was eventually court martialled behind closed doors. Amid complaints of a half-hearted prosecution, he was acquitted of two charges, two others were withdrawn, and he was free to apply to rejoin MI5.

In Bad Nenndorf, the remaining prisoners were shipped out, the wire ripped down, and the prison shut down. The baths were reinstalled in the cubicles and, gradually, the spa returned to its traditional business of catering for the health needs of elderly German tourists.

The closure of Bad Nenndorf was not the end of the story, however. The archives reveal that three months later a custom-built interrogation centre, with cells for 30 men and 10 women, was opened near to the British military base at Gütersloh. The inmates were to be suspected Soviet spies, and would be medically examined before interrogation.

When Frank Pakenham complained that most of the interrogators had been at Bad Nenndorf, and demanded that “drastic methods” should not be employed, Major-General Sir Brian Robertson, the military governor, put his foot down.

Why, he exclaimed, if the military authorities were required to justify the arrest of each inmate, and then handle them according to the standards “enforced by the prison commissioners in our own enlightened country”, there was little point in having an interrogation centre at all.

Death subterfuge

One of the most bizarre episodes at Bad Nenndorf followed the death of a former SS officer called Abeling. He had been so severely beaten during his arrest in January 1947 that he was unconscious on arrival at the prison, and died shortly afterwards.

The camp’s officers instructed a local gravedigger to prepare a grave for a British officer who had died of an infectious disease. Abeling’s corpse was sewn into a blanket, lowered in, and covered with quicklime. A firing party was on hand to ensure that the dead man was buried with full British military honours, and a white wooden cross with a false name was erected over the grave.

The reasons for such subterfuge are made clear in declassified Foreign Office papers at the National Archives. Abeling, formerly a member of an “annihilation squad” in Warsaw, had been working as an agent for the Americans at the time of his death, spying on his old Nazi comrades under the codename Slim.

The report notes that the Americans “insisted that ‘Slim’s’ death must be kept a very closely guarded secret, because of the fact that the US authorities had been employing him in the full knowledge that he was wanted by the Polish government as a major war criminal”.

Today the wooden cross over Abeling’s grave has been replaced with a gravestone. It still bears the name of the man that local people believe to be buried there: John X White, born 1.8.1911, died 17.1.1947.

The secrets of the London Cage

Beatings, sleep deprivation and starvation used on SS and Gestapo men

POW camp in Kensington kept secret and hidden from Red Cross

Kensington Palace Gardens is one of the most exclusive, and expensive, addresses in the world: its stately row of 160-year-old mansions, built on land owned by the crown, is home to ambassadors, billionaires and princes. One property bought by the Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal for a reputed £57m is said to be the most expensive house in London. Down the road, a pair of Manhattan tax lawyers are renovating No 6, while next door, No 7, is the London home of the Sultan of Brunei. Over the years No 8 has housed its fair share of dowagers and dukes.

Between July 1940 and September 1948, however, these three magnificent houses were home to one of the country’s most secret military establishments: the London office of the Combined Services Detailed Interrogation Centre, known colloquially as the London Cage.

The London Cage was run by MI19, the section of the War Office responsible for gleaning information from enemy prisoners of war, and few outside this organisation knew exactly what went on beyond the single barbed-wire fence that separated the three houses from the busy streets and grand parks of west London.

Years later Tony Whitehead, a consultant psychiatrist in Brighton, recounted in his memoirs how, as a young aircraftsman delivering a belligerent SS sergeant to the Cage, he was shocked to see a German naval officer in full dress uniform on his hands and knees, cleaning the entrance hall floor. An enormous Guardsman stood with one foot on the prisoner’s back, casually enjoying a smoke. When Whitehead collected his prisoner three days later, the man was completely subdued, rarely looked up, and addressed him as sir. “I do not know what had happened to him at the London Cage,” Dr Whitehead wrote.

By examining thousands of documents stored at the National Archives, formerly the Public Record Office, as well as the archives of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva, the Guardian has established what happened to this prisoner, and many others like him.

The London Cage was used partly as a torture centre, inside which large numbers of German officers and soldiers were subjected to systematic ill-treatment. In total 3,573 men passed through the Cage, and more than 1,000 were persuaded to give statements about war crimes. The brutality did not end with the war, moreover: a number of German civilians joined the servicemen who were interrogated there up to 1948.

The Cage was commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Scotland, a forceful, outspoken man deemed to have the perfect background. Although English, the colonel had served briefly in the German army in what is now Namibia shortly after the turn of the century, and was later awarded the OBE for his work interrogating German prisoners during the first world war. In 1939, at the age of 57, he was recalled for service.

The Cage had space for 60 prisoners at any time, and five interrogation rooms. Scotland had around 10 officers serving under him, plus a dozen NCOs who served as interrogators and interpreters. Security was provided by soldiers from the Guards regiments, selected, one archived document asserts, “for their height rather than their brains”.

Among the documents stored at the National Archives at Kew is the manuscript of Scotland’s memoirs. In his first draft he recalled how he would muse, on arriving at the Cage each morning: “‘Abandon all hope ye who enter here.’ For if any German had any information we wanted, it was invariably extracted from him in the long run.” There was pandemonium at the War Office when the book was submitted to be censored in June 1950. Officials begged Scotland to quietly lock the manuscript away, then threatened him with prosecution under the Official Secrets Act. Special Branch detectives were sent to raid his retirement home at Bourne End, Buckinghamshire. The Foreign Office urged suppression of the book, as it would assist “persons agitating on behalf of war criminals”. An assessment by MI5 pointed out that Scotland had detailed repeated breaches of the Geneva convention, with his admissions that prisoners had been forced to kneel while being beaten about the head; forced to stand to attention for up to 26 hours; threatened with execution; or threatened with “an unnecessary operation”.

The book was eventually published after a seven-year delay, and only after all incriminating material had been deleted. It is now clear, however, that Scotland could have tried to reveal far more.

Within the National Archives are documents from two official inquiries into the methods employed at the Cage, one which heard evidence that guards were under orders to knock on some prisoners’ cell doors every 15 minutes, depriving them of sleep, and another which concluded with “the possibility that violence was used” during interrogations.

There is also a long and detailed letter of complaint from one SS captain, Fritz Knoechlein, who describes his treatment after being taken to the Cage in October 1946. Knoechlein alleges that because he was “unable to make the desired confession” he was stripped, given only a pair of pyjama trousers, deprived of sleep for four days and nights, and starved.

The guards kicked him each time he passed, he alleges, while his interrogators boasted that they were “much better” than the “Gestapo in Alexanderplatz”. After being forced to perform rigorous exercises until he collapsed, he says he was compelled to walk in a tight circle for four hours. On complaining to Scotland that he was being kicked even “by ordinary soldiers without a rank”, Knoechlein alleges that he was doused in cold water, pushed down stairs, and beaten with a cudgel. Later, he says, he was forced to stand beside a large gas stove with all its rings lit before being confined in a shower which sprayed extremely cold water from the sides as well as from above. Finally, the SS man says, he and another prisoner were taken into the gardens behind the mansions, where they were forced to run in circles while carrying heavy logs.

“Since these tortures were the consequences of my personal complaint, any further complaint would have been senseless,” Knoechlein wrote. “One of the guards who had a somewhat humane feeling advised me not to make any more complaints, otherwise things would turn worse for me.” Other prisoners, he alleged, were beaten until they begged to be killed, while some were told that they could be made to disappear.

At the time Knoechlein made these allegations he was facing the death penalty, having been convicted of the murder of 124 British soldiers, including 98 members of the Royal Norfolk Regiment. These soldiers had been massacred by men under Knoechlein’s command after being taken prisoner on the retreat to Dunkirk in May 1940. He was in a desperate position, and may have been making desperate allegations in a bid to escape the hangman. Nevertheless, his complaint was taken seriously by War Office officials, who considered whether to convene an inquiry. They eventually decided against this, on the grounds that this would mean delaying Knoechlein’s execution. There was no legal precedent for this, one official noted, besides which “any court of inquiry into these allegations would be futile”.

Similar torture allegations surfaced in 1947, and again the following year, when 21 Gestapo and police officers were tried for the murder of 50 RAF officers who had been shot after tunnelling their way out of Stalag Luft III, the breakout recreated in the Hollywood film The Great Escape.

The court in Hamburg was told that many of the defendants had been starved and systematically beaten at the London Cage, confined in the cold water shower, and “threatened with electrical devices”. Among the defendants was Erich Zacharias, a sergeant in the Gestapo’s frontier police. The only evidence against him was his confession which, MI5 noted in its assessment of Scotland’s memoir, had been signed only because “being a prisoner in their hands, he had been worked on psychologically”. Zacharias insisted that he had also been beaten. Twenty of the defendants were convicted and 14 were hanged, Zacharias among them.

It is impossible to discern, from the War Office archives, whether Scotland was regarded by this time as a maverick whose methods were to be quietly overlooked, or whether he was acting with clear, official approval. It is clear, however, by late 1946 there was “disquiet about his methods” being expressed at the headquarters of the British army of the Rhine.

By then the Red Cross was aware of the existence of the Cage, although only because its location had inadvertently been included on a list of PoW camps sent to the organisation. A Red Cross inspector called twice at Kensington Palace Gardens in March 1946 but was turned away. In a lengthy memo to the War Office, Scotland explained that he had identified the officer responsible for disclosing its location, and that this man had promised “that this blunder would not be repeated”.

Scotland went on to argue that the Red Cross need not be admitted, because his prisoners were either civilians, or “criminals within the armed forces”, and neither, he said, were protected by the Geneva convention. Should the Red Cross be allowed inside the Cage, he added, he would instruct the RAF to stop sending him prisoners suspected of involvement in the Stalag Luft III murders. “The interrogation of these criminals must proceed in Germany under conditions more closely related to police methods than to Geneva convention principles.”

Furthermore, he wrote: “The secret gear which we use to check the reliability of information obtained must be removed from the Cage before permission is given to inspect the building. This work will take a month to complete.” It is unclear what sort of “secret gear” Scotland wanted to conceal from the Red Cross.

It was a further 18 months before the Red Cross could enter the Cage. Its inspector found little evidence of ill-treatment but, as he noted in subsequent reports, 10 prisoners in the worst physical condition appeared to have been moved to other PoW camps the night before his arrival, and there was evidence that any prisoner who lodged a complaint in his presence would suffer reprisals.

Despite the growing number of complaints it was receiving about the London Cage, the International Committee of the Red Cross eventually decided to do nothing “through official channels” as it had been assured that its closure was imminent, and because it feared such action would be against the interests of the men still detained there.

As the work of the Cage was wound down, the interrogation of prisoners was switched to a number of internment camps in Germany. And there is evidence that the treatment meted out in these places was, if anything, far worse. While many of the papers relating to these interrogation centres remain sealed at the Foreign Office, it is clear that one camp in the British zone became particularly notorious. At least two German prisoners starved to death there, according to a court of inquiry, while others were shot for minor offences.

In one complaint lodged at the National Archives, a 27-year-old German journalist being held at this camp said he had spent two years as a prisoner of the Gestapo. And not once, he said, did they treat him as badly as the British.

In case you want to learn how to appeal to the Jews, British diplomat Matthew Gould gives a free lesson. Haaretz reported yesterday that Gould, the newly appointed British Ambassador to Israel, wasn’t too connected to his Jewish roots until he served in Tehran. Seemingly, now he knows where he belongs.

“Being posted in Iran made me go to shul more regularly”, says the new Ambassador. “I did it to reach out to the Jewish community in Iran and to show that Western embassies were watching out for its welfare,” Gould explains. “I was determined to go to shul to show both the Jewish community and the Iranian authorities that I was Jewish and not embarrassed of it.”

Gould says that his two-year stint through 2005 in Tehran as deputy head of mission has given him “a real expertise in an issue of profound security importance to Israel.”

The religious process that began in Tehran continued in Britain. “I got more active [with Judaism] and over the last couple of years I’ve spent a lot more time and a lot more thought on my Jewish identity and what it means to be Jewish,” says Gould.

Haaretz reports that Gould and his wife go to shul every week at the West London Synagogue. As a child, Gould recalls going to Middlesex New Synagogue in Harrow with his parents, who still live in London as “proud but inactive” members of the Jewish community.

In Israel, Gould says he and his wife “will keep a Jewish household,” and “bring up their kids in the Jewish tradition, when those children are born.” Gould knows some parts of Israel, from his visits there as a child, when he would occasionally go to the Liberal Movement’s Kadima summer camps. He also has family – second and third cousins – in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. What can we say, he is not only a Jew but a product of a typical Zionist upbringing.

Considering Israel’s crimes against humanity in general and Palestinians in particular, one would expect Britain to send an impartial ambassador to the Jewish state. Judeocentric by admission and Zionist by education, Gould is certainly not the man for the job. As Gould himself admits, “the fact that I’m Jewish means I will come with a particular insight and sympathy and understanding, because the story of my family is in certain respects the story of the people of the State of Israel.”

A month ago British TV Channel 4 broadcasted an exposè of the UK Jewish Lobby. It revealed also that 50% of MPs in the shadow cabinet are Conservative Friends of Israel members. The Jews in Britain or at least their rich are drifting away from the Labour party. They gamble on the Tories. Consequently David Miliband, the foreign minister is doing whatever he can to bring the Jewish fundraisers back home to his Labour party.

At the end of October Miliband accused the Conservative Party over their new alliance with the far right in Europe and with a Polish Politician with an Antisemitic past. Some prominent British Jews were not impressed. They knew exactly what Miliband was up to, they realised that Miliband, himself a Jew, was attempting to destabilize the Jewish new alliance with the Conservatives.

Fatigue is not exactly one of Miliband’s characteristics. As we learn from Haaretz, he is now sending the Jewish State a kosher ambassador, one who ‘goes to the Shul every Sabbath’, one who vows to keep a “Jewish household”. One who understands and is ‘sensitive to Israeli security matters’.

Ambassador Gould maintains that he is going as “the British ambassador, to pursue British policies and advance British interests.” So here are two simple questions to the new British Ambassador to Israel. How are you going to act when the British interests and the Jewish ones oppose each other? How will you act when you notice a clear discrepancy between Israeli actions and humanism?

Peres attended The New School, which is associated with the Jews and Freemasons of the Frankfurt School and the Rockefeller Foundation, such as Erich Fromm, Max Wertheimer, Aron Gurwitsch, Leo Strauss, Claude Lévi-Strauss, and Roman Jakobson, so lying comes naturally to him. In fact, it’s doubtful he even knows what the word “truth” means.

In 1953, the Polish immigrant Peres was appointed by fellow immigrant and Israel’s first prime minister, David Ben Gurion, to become Director-General of the Ministry of Defense. Within three years, Peres had laid the foundation for Israel’s nuclear weapon program. He picked France as the major supplier, arranged the sale of a nuclear reactor, and spent the next decade overseeing the construction of the Dimona nuclear weapon production complex.

At a April 1963 meeting in the White House, Peres responded to President John F. Kennedy’s questions about Israel’s nuclear program by saying: “Israel will not be the first to introduce nuclear weapons to the Middle East.”

Kennedy knew that Peres was lying. He opposed the Jewish State’s nuclear weapons program, and was soon mysteriously dead.

On 18 April 1996, Prime Minister Peres launched “Operation Grapes of Wrath” causing 400,000 Lebanese to flee their homes, with almost 800 of them fleeing to a UN base in Qana, South Lebanon. On 18 April the Israeli army shelled the UN shelter in Qana, killing 102 civilians, mainly women, children and the elderly. Many more were injured. Human Rights Watch, the UN and Amnesty International subsequently disproved the myth that the Israeli army did not deliberately intend to shell the UN base.

Peres has been responsible for other war crimes, from further colonizing occupied Arab land to endorsing a policy of extra-judicial killings, which murders Palestinians and other Arabs without the benefit of a trial or, in fact, any proof other than that provided by Israeli Intelligence, the Shin Bet. He also supported the siege on Gaza, the destruction of its airport, and supports the elaborate system of checkpoints all across the West Bank, and the demolition of Palestinian homes.

Truth must be said, I do admire fierce President Ahmadinejad almost as much as I despise war criminal Shimon Peres.

However reading the rant Peres gave Wednesday during the UN’s General Assembly is a rather amusing experience. The man who has more blood on his hands than any living Israeli politician was rather daring.

“The Iranian people are not our enemies,” declares Peres. This is a pretty interesting statement, bearing in mind that Israeli Minister Mofaz threatens to nuke Iran on a daily basis. “Their leader (Ahmadinejad) is a danger to his people, the region and the world.” Again, a very bold statement considering the established statistical fact that the vast majority of Europeans actually see Israel and the USA as the leading threat to world peace.

But Peres wouldn’t stop just there, following the tradition of the Jewish Marxists who always know better than anyone else what is good for the world proletariat, the Palestinians and so on, Peres, the Yiddishe Mullah knows what Islam is all about:

“He (Ahmadinejad) is a disgrace to the ancient Iranian people. He is a disgrace to the values of Islam.”

But it isn’t just Islam’s values Peres specializes in. He also knows better than the assembly of nations what is good and what is bad. Seemingly Peres must be convinced that Judification of the entire world is completed. This allows him to decide what the UN is all about and who should be allowed to speak on its platform. “He (Ahmadinejad) is a disgrace to this very house, the United Nations, its basic principles and values. His appearance here is already a shame.”

Whether Peres was himself successful in addressing the nations is a question that will be left to historians and analysts, however, he himself wasn’t totally convinced by his own shallow arguments. Thus he ended up employing the most tedious overused Hasbara propaganda. The pathetic repetition of the “Elders of Zion” tale is one example. Shimon, let me advise you, you had better keep quiet about this ‘Elder’ topic at least momentarily. You see, in crumbling America, a super power that was toppled by policies set by Wolfowitzes and Greenspans, the Elders of Zion is a devastating reality. You really do not want to go there, you really do not want to be the one who brings it up.

However, Shimon, just to remind you that amongst your own countless disastrous fatal personal failures was the Oslo Accord. It was you who coined the zio-centric idiom ‘New Middle East’ with the Jewish state as its ‘financial capital’. Let me tell you Shimon, this ‘dream’ of yours qualifies you as the epitome of the Zionist Elder.

However, the Elders of Zion is just one Zionist weapon, once it is brushed aside. The last Zionist weapon of mind destruction is there to be launched, the Shoah and its denial:

“Their despicable denial of the holocaust is a mockery of indisputable evidence, a cynical offense to survivors of the horror. Contradictory to the resolutions adopted by this assembly.”

Listen to me carefully, president Shimon. We better admit it, the Zionist Holocaust narrative is falling apart and you have only yourself to blame. For the last 60 years, you and your people have been killing Palestinians in the name of Jewish suffering. Consequently, Israelis are regarded by many as the ‘Nazis of our time’. In other words, your present sinister ugliness is far more concerning for all of us than the Nazi crimes that happened 65 years ago. Differently than any other historical event, the Holocaust is a closed book for research, with its crimes that we are not even allowed to scrutinize properly, due to strict laws about what can an cannot be researched or even uttered.

However, in order to maintain the Holocaust Zionist narrative untouched, a strong dollar maintained by ‘friendly’ bankers is needed. Unfortunately, as you may realize, the dollar is not doing very well at the moment and your ‘friendly’ bankers are about to be subject to a federal investigation. If I were you Shimon, I would ask my Hasbara guys to come up with something slightly better than the old Holocaust to distract everyone from reality.

At a certain stage in his speech, Elder Zionist Peres becomes either a stand up comedian or senile, I just cannot make up my mind yet.

“Iran,” he says “continues to develop enriched uranium and long range missiles. They introduce a religion of fear, opposing the call of the Lord in respect of life.”

Shima’le, look in our eyes when you say it, wasn’t it you yourself who launched the Israeli nuclear project? Wasn’t it you who introduced the entire region to the nuclear threat? Shima’le, you are no doubt a disgrace to human intelligence. No wonder the Israelis themselves never voted for you in your entire political career.

However, once you start to spread Israeli Hasbara lies, no one can really stop you:

“Iranian support for Hezbullah divided Lebanon. Its support for Hamas split the Palestinians and postpones the establishment of the Palestinian State.”

Miliband Aide Is Named New Israel Ambassador

Matthew Gould is Britain’s new ambassador to Israel

A member of West London Synagogue is to become Britain’s first Jewish Ambassador to Israel.

Matthew Gould, who joined the Foreign Office in 1993 and has served as principal private secretary to the foreign secretary for the past two years, will succeed Tom Phillips at the end of his four-year term during the second part of 2010.

Speaking to the Jewish News hours after his appointment was announced this week, the 38-year-old, who first visited Israel as a child with his grandparents, revealed that he was “extremely excited” about his new role. He said: “As a British Jew I am extremely proud to be able to represent Britain in Israel.”

Gould, who admires the country’s “vitality, creativity and the fact that it is a democratic state that adheres to the rule of law”, added: “There are three fundamentals to UK-Israel relations and I’m passionate about all three. The first is to uphold the existence and legitimacy of the state of Israel. The second is to promote the security of Israel through peace and the third is to pursue the best possible relationship between the UK and Israel.”

News of the appointment of the former head of mission in Tehran comes amid ongoing concerns among community leaders over the government’s handling of the Goldstone report and plans to label West Bank goods.

While stressing his pride at being the “first British Jewish Ambassador to Israel” (Herbert Samuel was made High Commissioner to Palestine in 1920), Gould insisted there would be no conflict between his job and his own Jewish roots. He said: “I will be there as British ambassador to pursue the policies of the elected government of the UK.” [Gordon Brown is the unelected Prime Minister.] The future envoy did however vow to do his utmost to maintain “the best relations I can” with this country’s Jewish community.

Asked whether he was concerned about the possibility of anti-Semitic reactions to his appointment in some blogs, he acknowledged he had “thought hard before applying. That said, I am hoping people will see me as the British ambassador representing Britain and not define me by my religion.”

Board of Deputies [of British Jews] Chief Executive Jon Benjamin said: “We have enjoyed a good working relationship with Matthew in recent years and look forward to that continuing in his new role. He takes with him an understanding of the views and concerns of the community, which he will no doubt reflect on as Ambassador to Israel.” Zionist Federation executive director Alan Aziz said: “We welcome the announcement about the next ambassador and look forward to as close a relationship as we have with Tom Phillips.”

Phillips — who was described by Gould as a “brilliant ambassador” who will be ” a very difficult act to follow” — told the Jewish News: “I have known Matthew for years from our work in the Foreign Office and know he will do an excellent job. I’m glad that someone who cares so much about Israel is succeeding me.”

Former prime minister Tony Blair said: “I know from working with Matthew that he has the experience and expertise to make him a great choice as Ambassador. I wish him every success.”

Britain has appointed its first Jewish ambassador to Israel. And Matthew Gould, a high-flying Foreign Office diplomat, is optimistic that his posting — to begin in autumn 2010 — will send out a significant message, both to his hosts and the UK Jewish community.

Mr Gould, 38, is currently Principal Private Secretary to Foreign Secretary David Miliband. Two of his predecessors as PPS to the foreign secretary of the day, Simon McDonald and Sherard Cowper-Coles, also went on to become British ambassador to Israel, so there is an established precedent.

Curly-haired, slight of build and warm of demeanour, Matthew Gould is the youngest of three brothers, brought up in Wembley, north London. “First we went to Harrow and Wembley Liberal shul,” he volunteers, “then to Middlesex New Synagogue.”

It is a surreal conversation to be having in a Foreign Office corridor as cleaners vacuum around us. For despite being tipped for a starry future and being at pains to point out that he hopes he got the Tel Aviv job because he was the best person for the post, being Jewish is clearly important to him.

“When I joined the Foreign Office” — in 1993, after taking a philosophy and divinity degree at Cambridge — “friends and family queued up to say that it was a nest of antisemitism. But in 16 years I have never experienced a single antisemitic moment or a sign of it. ”

He is firm in his belief that the Foreign Office has changed; and he himself has been an architect of that change. Mr Gould was among a group of self-described Young Turks [= the Jews, crypto-Jews and Freemasons who took over occupied Constantinople] who helped to write the Foresight Report, a series of recommendations for improvement of the foreign service.

“I’d like to think I went some way towards shifting some Foreign Office attitudes. It has changed quite a lot. It was much more formal and hierarchical than it is now.”

He spent three years as Second Secretary at Britain’s embassy in Manila, finding time to campaign against child sex abuse in the Philippines, and then a further three years as speechwriter to the late Robin Cook, Foreign Secretary in Tony Blair’s first cabinet.

Mr Cook was famously declared persona non grata in Israel after he laid a wreath at Deir Yassin, rather than go to Yad Vashem, a move compounded by a furious verbal attack he made on settlers at Har Homa.

“I know about the depth of feelings on that issue,” says Mr Gould, mildly, although he did not accompany Mr Cook on that trip.

More pertinent, perhaps, was his input when Mr Cook hosted and convened the first London Nazi gold conference in 1997. Mr Gould was awarded an MBE during that period, aged just 26.

Since then he has served in two Islamic postings, Islamabad and Tehran — he was deputy head of mission in Iran.

“I made a point of going to shul in Tehran,” he says. It was both a means of expressing support to Jews there and putting down a marker to the Iranian government that there was a watching brief on how it treated its minorities.

After two years as foreign and security policy counsellor in Washington, he was brought back for a brief stint as private secretary for foreign affairs to the departing Prime Minister, Tony Blair, before taking up his present job in July 2007 with David Miliband.

How did he see the Israel job? It is not exactly a conventional “big job” for an ambitious diplomat — although it could be argued that it is a measure of how seriously Whitehall takes the situation that it will send someone like Matthew Gould to Tel Aviv.

Although he gives a standard reply: “I can’t think of a job I would rather have,” there is a sense that he has a genuine commitment to it. “There is no doubt of the political and geopolitical importance of Israel and of its neighbours. Any foreign secretary or prime minister will spend a good deal of time on the Middle East. It has always been at the heart of foreign policy. Israel has a fantastic, open and argumentative culture, which is both challenging and extremely rewarding for an ambassador.”

He spent time backpacking around Israel after university, and was frequently taken by his grandparents to Eilat and on tours around Israel. He has second cousins there, too. Being the first British Jewish ambassador to Israel is “a question I have given a lot of thought to. I don’t think it’s straightforward. I thought hard about it before applying. It will give me, I hope, an insight to the history of the Jewish people, prior to Israel’s creation — because in a sense that is the story of my own family.

“It means that I come with an understanding and a passion for pursuing the policy the British government wants me to pursue. I will be there as the British ambassador, but I will still be absolutely passionate as to what I see as the three key points which underlie Britain’s policy towards Israel: its legitimacy and right to exist; its long term security, based on peace; and the strongest, widest, and best possible relationship between Britain and Israel.”

He adds: “About being Jewish and doing the job: there will be a certain amount of expectation, of scrutiny, that will come with it. What the British ambassador in Tel Aviv says is closely scrutinised, anyway. I hope, by making clear that I’m not there as the Jewish ambassador, I’m the British ambassador, people will understand.”

He has to leave: he has a Hebrew lesson. His wife, Celia, is also studying the language; the couple, not long married, hope to start their family in Israel. “She is as excited as I am about going.”

I ask what he thinks about his Foreign Office colleague, Rowan Laxton, who was convicted of racial abuse after an antisemitic [sic] outburst in a London gym earlier this year.

After suspension and an internal disciplinary process, Laxton has resumed his employment with the Foreign Office. “I think it would be a great shame if people drew the conclusion [from that incident] that the Foreign Office was inherently Arabist. There lingers in part of the community a stereotype of the Foreign Office: that is a reality long out of date, and I hope my appointment goes some way to changing that.”

Two UK Gifts To Israel for Hanukkah

The first is that the new British Ambassador to Israel designate is Jewish. This is a first. Matthew Gould, 37, a Kadima Summer camp ["Our Mission: To build a foundation of Jewish identity and a love of Israel"] alum, was recently one of Britain’s representatives and diplomats in Tehran Iran. It was there that he began to attend prayer services at a local synagogue, which increased his interest in Judaism and Jewish culture.

And now for the second gift. A new law will allow British retailers to differentiate agricultural and other products from the West Bank through new labels. Instead of saying “Product of the West Bank,” they may now differentiate between Palestinian products and products from Israeli occupied settlements in the West Bank. Your fruit can now say “Israeli settlement produce” or “Palestinian produce.”

Some comments at Haaretz:

• One can only hope ,that even though he has to tow the official UK line with its deliberate ambiguity,he`ll still have some lee way to influence UK policy for a more balanced approach.
• If Israel had any self-respect, they would cut off diplomatic relations with the UK. The Brits are nasty enemies of Israel. Their ambassador should be expelled.

• In all future EU ministerial visits to Israel, the topic of the Israeli-Arab conflict shall remain off the table entirely.
• Only speak to visiting EU ministers about the holiness of Jerusalem to Jews and about the Temple Mount.
• Remove all protection provided by Israel to Palestinians.
• Release 1000 Palestinians and encurage them to kill Abbas.
• Declare the Temple Mount as Israeli sovereign territory, and seize it.
• Establish large Jewish neighborhoods in the heart of East Jerusalem and start construction immediately.
• Unfreeze settlement construction in the West Bank.
• Increase roadblocks and checkpoints in “the West Bank/Judea and Samaria”.

Netanyahu Satanyahoo should admit Israel doesn’t want peace

Tomorrow will mark six months since the prime minister’s foreign policy speech at Bar-Ilan University. It’s now time for another historic speech. In the near future, the prime minister needs to convene the right audience, find a fitting site and deliver the speech of a lifetime. We don’t want peace, he should say, going down in history as the first Israeli leader to tell the truth, the whole truth. In contrast to the superficial “two states for two peoples” speech, this time his remarks will be full of significance, showing real intent. The speech will inspire a great deal of trust and more than a little sympathy for a man speaking the truth.

They won’t again be able to lambaste Prime Minister Benjamin Natanyahu Satanyahoo for tricks and verbal sleights of hand. There will no longer be a need for his tiring and ridiculous maneuvering. Instead of hopelessly contorting his face because of so many winks and nods, he will be able to stop winking in all directions.

In his speech we will hear what is going to happen. It will end Natanyahu Satanyahoo and Israel’s deceptions. The truth is liberating. Such a step will free the prime minister from domestic and international pressure. There will be no further need to freeze construction in the settlements and in the next minute declare them “national priority zones.” There will be no further need to send apologetic inspectors on bizarre treks across the West Bank. No further need to rip up construction-freeze orders in front of the cameras and argue that we are a state of laws; that now there is a freeze, but it will be immediately followed by massive construction.

The settlers will have no further need for their ridiculous protests or for lying down on the road screaming in unison. Natanyahu Satanyahoo will no longer have to call them “brothers” and then bring in the police against them. There will also no longer be a need to continue using the phrase “without preconditions” while decisively changing the situation on the ground over and over. And there will be no need to support a referendum bill and then immediately order that its passage be delayed, as is the case with Natanyahu Satanyahoo.

The curtain will fall. The performance will be over. It will then be possible for the makeup, masks and costumes to be removed and to follow the straight and narrow. Then, maybe for the first time in his life, Natanyahu Satanyahoo will be convinced of the power of truth.

An Israeli leader who speaks the truth will also free himself of international pressure. The world will understand that it is dealing with a deep, continuing recalcitrance over peace that no pressure can overcome, so the world will throw up its hands and surrender. Some of the Arabs will do the same. They will all know there is a North Korean leader in Jerusalem who is as stubborn as a mule, that most of his Israeli subjects don’t want the likes of him and don’t want change. The world, which has bought Israel’s web of lies and excuses, hasn’t opened its mouth. This includes Europe, which is incapable of coming to a single firm and courageous decision, and America, which dances to the drum of the Jewish lobby — they will also be happy to be relieved of this deceptive burden.

Because that is the truth. We don’t want peace. It’s as simple as that. It’s good for us to wallow in the current situation. There are no terrorist attacks so there are no Arabs. Life is a bowl of cherries, so why change? Society is comatose. It doesn’t object and doesn’t even ask, led like a flock of sheep, not asking why we need a freeze if at the same time more and more of its funds will be allocated to the settlements in huge quantities.

They don’t ask why it’s okay for the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba and not for Kiryat Shmona. They don’t care at all what is happening in their backyard and don’t wonder why the whole world disapproves of us. They just want to enjoy life, and who cares about two states or the end of the occupation? Natanyahu Satanyahoo should speak this truth in his high-profile speech.

After we are freed of the burden of fraud, we can consider without hindrance what we really want to do: to build and build in the territories, to remain forever on every hilltop and in every valley, in the Golan Heights, and of course, in the “holy sites.” And everything is a holy site. And we want to deepen the occupation and be even more cruel to the Palestinians.

Maybe they will finally fulfill our dreams and disappear. We can enact more and more racist laws and unequivocally say no to the Syrian president, who is driving us crazy over his desire for peace, and no to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who is in despair and failing. We can completely stifle the remaining good intentions of U.S. President Barack Obama and show contempt for the world, as we would so much like to do. Natanyahu Satanyahoo, speak the truth, and you’ll see what one good speech can do.

Lawless settlers are an inseparable part of Israel

The dogs of Shiloh run about, excited. Barking loudly, they try to chase after the long convoy of security vehicles passing the doghouses. But they aren’t going anywhere: They’re collared to long iron chains.

No sight could better illustrate the futile journey of the inspectors and police officers through the West Bank this week.

They’re here to deliver the building freeze orders, to people who rip them up in front of the cameras. This week, they traveled from one settlement to the next, and we followed, an odd convoy of armored vehicles from the Civil Administration, the Yasam special police forces and the Border Police, two cars full of journalists and one car driven by a settler activist reporting to his friends from the field and giving advance notice.

Some settlements the convoy passed quickly, without stopping, which raised even more speculation about the objective of this shadowy trip. At other settlements, its way was blocked. When the convoy parked at one West Bank junction, a few Palestinian passersby from a nearby village stared. They had no idea where it was headed; it seemed like the members of the secured convoy weren’t so sure either.

Monday was a windy, rainy day in the West Bank. Gush Dan remained indifferent to what was going on just a short trip to the east in Hevel Binyamin – the pictures of the settlers forcibly blocking the law enforcers, and the council heads tearing up the orders, didn’t rouse them from their deep, multi-year coma.

On June 11, 1963, Alabama governor George Wallace stood outside Foster Auditorium at the University of Alabama and physically prevented two black students, Vivian Malone and James Hood, from entering. Wallace, who coined the phrase “Segregation today, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever,” was trying to block implementation of the law banning racial segregation in his state. Only the presence of the deputy U.S. attorney general and National Guard troops kept the governor from taking the law into his own hands. Wallace was compelled to step aside and let the black students into the class. The rest is history – the American history of upholding the law.

Around here, no attorney general or state prosecutor has thought to personally stand up to the rebellious council leaders, as in Alabama, and our national guard troops are still apologizing to the settlers. Anyone upset by their behavior ought to direct his anger at the state, not at them. The state that permitted, funded, secured, invested in, paved and built, turned a blind eye and kept silent in the face of all the violations of the law that accompanied this enterprise from day one. The state cannot come and say now: We didn’t know that this is how they are. We didn’t know they would spit in our face like this. We didn’t know that this is what grew there, in the land of lawlessness, which is an inseparable part of the State of Israel.

Production of a farce

The scene is grotesque. A long convoy of jeeps and vans slowly and noisily makes its way along the West Bank roads, going hither and thither, often to no avail. In the middle are two white Civil Administration jeeps. One contains the short inspector in his wool hat. He stops every once in a while to smoke a cigarette. He holds the papers for which this whole convoy was gathered: the stop-construction orders. “How am I driving?” asks the sticker on the jeep.

You have to accompany Haaretz’s settlements reporter Haim Levinson to understand just how such a farce is produced, how this ridiculous spectacle is staged. A tight network of settler activists and PR people maintain a constant manipulative racket of beepers and cynical text messages, reporting, misleading, warning and threatening our reinforced vehicle. There’s not a moment of quiet.

And this is what one of the settler public relations fellows has to say early in the morning: “The guys from Yitzhar could lose it today. Yesterday the detention of one of the residents was extended. Listen what’s going to happen there: They issued demolition orders for Havat Gilad, and it’s going to be lively there. Havat Gilad is private Jewish land. It’s not stolen land. Everything was done with building permits.

“There are millions without building permits. Ehud Barak is no sucker: He needs to go to the Labor Party and say: I am a leftist. As soon as they hassle him, he’ll start with the illegal outposts. You want to embarrass me over the stop-construction orders? I’ll embarrass Ya’alon and Begin with the outposts. These aren’t illegal outposts. It may be illegal construction.

“And so Begin and Ya’alon will be embarrassed and he’ll win the left’s sympathy again. It’s not about the law here, it’s all a game. He takes Havat Gilad, which is a symbol, and says: I, Barak, am not afraid of anyone. I am demolishing Havat Gilad. The settlers will go wild, Barak will sit in the Kirya and play the piano and be the hero of the left.”

By the end of the day, Havat Gilad was still completely intact. Orders, shmorders.

The West Bank is once again flooded with slogans: “No surrender to Bibi’s freeze inspectors,” read red letters on every abandoned cement block and at the entry to every settlement. We’re eating a three-shekel falafel at Hawara when the beeper goes off: The inspectors are on the way to far-off Beit Aryeh. We cruise down the empty “Trans-Binyamin” road. “Have you spotted any unusual movement of forces?” asks another sign along the way, followed by a phone number. And of course: “Despite everything, we’ll keep building.” Of course. It goes without saying.

Several IDF and police jeeps wait by the entrance to Beit Aryeh, this innocent “communal yishuv,” as proclaimed by the sign, with streets bearing the names of flowers and plants, as in Modi’in, as in any other “communal yishuv” these days. Levinson says that the residents are offended if you call them “settlers.” The place looks deserted. Everyone is off at work in Gush Dan.

The “state’s balcony,” as per Ariel Sharon, is desolate. On a clear day you can see all the way to the airport, the sign even promises a view of “72 percent of Israel’s population,” no less, from Hadera to Gedera. The meaning is clear and menacing. This is where Sharon would bring his guests to show them the regional superpower’s “narrow waist” and the existential dangers, definitely existential, that awaited it if Beit Aryeh, the rock of its existence, were ever to be evacuated, God forbid. As if to demonstrate, an El Al plane passes by on its way to land. Even on a cloudy day, it could be brought down from here. Meanwhile, Nardi Marketing is offering a house for sale on one flowery-named street and the inspectors remain at the entrance, or perhaps they’ve already passed through here.

The Beit Aryeh Development Company is working on another “expansion” of the settlement, the new “Vineyard Neighborhood,” freeze or not. The construction equipment is already in the field, and so are some Palestinian laborers. A beeper alert from the Hebron settlers committee: “Convoy next to Beit Aryeh.”

The rain doesn’t let up, visibility is poor and we continue trailing the convoy toward an unknown destination. The leading Border Police jeeps stop by the Elisha pre-military academy, perhaps to fool the enemy, and then continue on. This part of the country is strewn with settlements, outposts, overlooks, expansions, academies, yeshivot and ulpanot. White caravans and red tile roofs on every hilltop. We briefly lose sight of the convoy and Levinson calls the lookouts at Talmonim. We find it again near Ateret. Turn left onto the road leading into Shiloh, “the place where the story of the Tabernacle took place,” as the sign tells us, where now you can get “grilled meats at the butcher’s in the industrial zone,” another sign informs us.

Surprise, surprise, the settlement’s iron gate opens without hindrance, police cars wait outside just in case, and the inspectors’ cars enter unimpeded.

We cross through Shiloh. The convoy doesn’t stop for a moment, not even when the wretched guard dogs bark wildly at it. Where are the animal rights organizations when you need them? These dogs are the only ones who offer any resistance to the inspectors. On the side of the road we see the foundations for four new houses, looking like no freeze is going to stop them.

In nearby Shvut Rachel, there is no resistance either and the convoy does not stop. It’s not clear why we went in and out, just passing through as if to check off another name on a list. Here, by the way, is where Jack Teitel lived happily.

A new vehicle now joins the convoy: a Hyundai Getz, belonging to Yishai Kariv of the Binyamin residents’ committee. No group is as organized as these settlers. Before long he’ll be leading the convoy, informing whomever he wants, warning whomever he wants, delaying its entry to its next destination. This too is all part of the big show. The convoy makes it way up the hill to Ma’ale Levona. Levinson knows: Here it’s going to be interesting, because of the girls’ high school there. This settlement is surrounded by an electronic fence. It’s a quality of life issue. The iron gate opens, and that’s when the day’s big show starts.

Within minutes, the entrance plaza fills with dozens of ulpana girls. They come down from the hilltops in their winter coats and long skirts, raring to go. A minute later, the boys appear, some with masked faces, pushing a huge dumpster and barbed wire to block the convoy. The happening is beginning: The girls climb onto the Civil Administration jeeps, sit down and start covering the doors with graffiti denouncing the “expulsion.” Meanwhile, their friends climb into the dumpster. They’re all giggling, and an older gray-haired woman is presiding over the action. Ma’ale Levona is fighting, the ulpana is fighting, and the evil forces of the law shall not be allowed in.

So what do they do? Capitulate. For now at least. The jeeps turn around amid flying clumps of mud. The mud revolution. Everyone is stuck in it now, not knowing what to do.

The beeper carries another announcement from the settlers: “Large Yasam forces have turned around. Starting to get wild.” The girls silently escort the jeeps on their way out. While other girls their age are hanging out at the mall, at least they’re fighting for something.

Three hours later, all the forces return, with reinforcements. A few rocks and a stun grenade are thrown, bold Border Police officers leap on the iron gate (now closed), other forces invade the community from another route and the target is finally conquered. Evening falls. Ma’ale Levona is in our hands.

William Lowenberg is A Survivor. He witnessed Jews marching into the fictitious gas chambers. He dedicates his life to Holoco$t remembrance and education, and is a co-founder and former Vice-Chairman of the United States Holoco$t Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. He discovered a technique whereby one can live for years without water, but just let millions of Africans and Asians die from lack of clean water.

The other thing that saved me, probably – there was – the water had typhoid in it. We knew that. By having that you also got immediately – and it happened a lot – a lot of people had diarrhea. My friend – the one I mentioned, the magician again – he had some experience, and he said, “Don’t drink the water.” What do you do? Cause you need [water]. He said, “Pick up a pebble.” I picked up a pebble off the street, a little stone. I had that stone for three years. I had it in my mouth, all day long. It activated my saliva gland. He taught me that. That’s why I never got that thirsty. That helps. Why do you think you guys take to chewing gum, right? What’s the reason you take chewing gum? To activate your saliva gland, but they don’t tell you that. They tell you it tastes good. It’s because you activate your saliva gland. It’s probably healthy. I don’t like chewing gum, it’s personal, I don’t know, it doesn’t mean anything to me. But young people, you see it more than older people. That pebble saved my life, I believe, because I didn’t drink the water. If you drank the water you got typhoid and there was lots and lots of typhoid. Hygiene. I feel very strong about that.

No, I lost it. When the war was over, we were liberated, I wanted to get rid of everything that reminded me of it. No. I wish I had. I thought about it. I wished I kept that pebble. It was a little stone and it worked. Others did too, I wasn’t the only one. But not everybody did, apparently.

Lowenberg has mysterious insider information proving that Hershel Grynszpan did not murder the German diplomat Ernst vom Rath in Paris on November 7, 1938, but vom Rath was in fact killed by the Germans in an Israeli-style false flag operation!

They made it a story to find an excuse. It’s now proven in recent years – I forget the name, I think it was in Paris or in France – that this was a trumped up thing. There was someone killed allegedly but the Germans killed him and used it as an excuse.

The dumb blood-thirsty Germans were so intent on murder that they would prefer having their own Kamaraden die in Stalingrad than see any Jews survive.

The Germans were so determined to kill people that while they were fighting a war on the Russian side, in Eastern Europe, the railroads – planes weren’t used in those days – the railroads had priority, the boxcars going to Auschwitz had priority on the rail lines to Auschwitz, before the army troops were supplied on the Eastern Front. You can see how obsessed they were with killing people.

And yet the Germans were so inefficient that Lowenberg is here to share his tales today.

As everybody knows, German showers have poison gas in them, and Germans are famous for their lack of order and cleanliness. Therefore they wanted all the famously hygienic Jews to be dirty all the time, and would kill any Jew who tried to stay clean.

I used to sneak out, and others too, sometimes, whenever we could and go out in the snow and roll ourselves in the snow, and wash ourselves down with the snow. If you had enough strength, you did that, as long as the Germans didn’t see that.

For some strange reason, the filthy Krauts craved Jew-Cock, and tried to impregnate Jewish women with the sperm of beasts. It is well known tyhat Germans were the least technologically and scientifically advanced people in Europe, and so they obviously did not know that brute inter-species impregnation is impossible. Of course, now it is possible in the sterile labratories of the New World Order.

The men they did castrations, a lot – middle size, regular size, big size – they castrated men and they had the worst time, they couldn’t live much longer. I knew quite a few who were picked. They picked certain individuals who looked like they were “macho-macho” or whatever. They castrated and injected them. But the women were worse. In Auschwitz it was prevalent, big operation, what they did to women there you can’t even talk about what they did to them. Inject them with semen from animals, you name it.

Lowenberg reminds us that “the gas chamber” at Auschwitz is a fake, and everybody knows it.

As you well know when the Russians came, who liberated Birkenau and Auschwitz, the gas chambers were all bombed, they were all blown up. There was none intact because they tried to destroy the evidence.

After The-War-That-Is-A-Footnote-To-The-Holoco$t, Lowenberg became a serial killer, and spied against Switzerland.

He wasn’t the only killer. He relates with glee how American soldiers are maniacal war criminals.

The American soldiers were terrific. They were so angry when they saw a German, they killed him immediately because they saw what they had done to us. The soldiers were great.

Lowenberg didn’t get into the whole Holoco$t racket until decades after infiltrating America.

Then the Holocaust thing didn’t come until many years later, many years later, because I didn’t get involved, there was nothing here at that point on that issue until about the early ’70’s, maybe late 60’s, something like that when we started to build the Holoco$t memorial.

Lowenberg is also an expert on international affairs, and is happy that the Jews have conquered America:

Dennis Prager…is the most fantastic guy. … He happens to be a conservative even though he was a Democrat when he was younger. … I was with him at Stanford. … He talks about these things, how lucky we are that we are living in a Judeo-Christian environment in this country. There is no area in the world where that is done because Europe has their own system of wanting to be what they are. That’s why they don’t agree with us right now.

The Muslim world feels very strong that they have only one answer to peace or whatever, that everybody has to be a Muslim. The Christian world doesn’t think this way. The United States certainly doesn’t think this way.

We think about what we see today…this happened once before, what you see in here, what’s happening in you know where, in Iraq, that happened once before, Hitler was in charge. It’s happening in Iraq, what they’re doing to their own people. That’s why it’s so important we, each and every one of us, we got to stand up if this happens. You can’t let happen what they’ve done to people, whoever they are, the politicians. … If we do that, it’ll be fine,we’ll have a good nation, we have a good country. Delusions about Delusions

This writer, Pankaj Mishra, accuses America’s Last Black President of living in a fantasy world. In fact, Mishra also lives in a fantasy world, in which Puppet Obama has autonomy, and ideas, and policies. Obama says what Jews tell him to say, and does what they tell him to do.

Mishra writes, “Obama seems far from abandoning…,” as if Obama has the authority to abandon any path he’s been programmed to follow. Why does he write about “Obama’s idea…” and “Obama’s…decision-making,” and conjecture that “Obama could have learned,” after having correctly identified the fantastic nature of Dunham-Davis-Soetero-Obama’s role? In the very title of his column, Mishra makes it clear that Obama says and does what Jews tell him to say and do: “Kissinger’s fantasy is Obama’s reality.”

Of course “Obama’s World” is far from Ben Gurion’s fantasy (Satanyahoo’s fantasy…Rahm Emanuel’s fantasy…Goldman-Sachs’ fantasy…) but he’s doing his best to achieve their Final Solution to The Goyim Problem.

Kissinger’s fantasy is Obama’s reality

The road to stability runs through Kashmir. With its latest surge, America has taken a terrible diversion

Meeting George Bush at the White House to discuss Afghanistan, the Pakistani journalist Ahmed Rashid once marvelled at how a “US president could live in such an unreal world, where the entire military and intelligence establishments were so gullible, the media so complacent, Congress so unquestioning – all of them involved in feeding half-truths to the American public“.

The masters of war and delusion are still flourishing. Widening his campaign of extrajudicial execution by drone missiles within Pakistan, Barack Obama seems far from abandoning an anachronistic American faith in superior firepower; the militarism of our new Nobel peace laureate seems constrained only by its steep financial costs.

Unabashed about their cheerleading in Iraq, many mainstream American journalists and columnists continue to resemble court scriveners of the kind the Mughal emperors employed: “intense”, “methodical” and “rigorous” were some of the adjectives used to describe Obama’s protracted decision-making on Afghanistan. As for the decision itself, Fareed Zakaria, fresh from a “small lunch” with the president at the White House, expressed the new liberal-hawk consensus when he exulted: “Obama is a realist by temperament, learning, and instinct.”

Actually, Obama’s idea of sending 30,000 more soldiers to help subdue the Taliban, reinforce the corrupt regime in Kabul, and assassinate more people in Pakistan until the inevitable American retreat, seems a particularly incoherent fantasy. Perhaps Zakaria means that Obama is a “realist” in the same way as Henry Kissinger was praised as one, doggedly pursuing “national interests” through the world’s manifold complexity. After all, Obama invoked Kissinger’s apparently prestigious imprimatur when he proposed to bomb “safe havens” for terrorists in Pakistan during his presidential debate with John McCain last year.

Certainly a more historically grounded realism would acknowledge that Pakistan, a nuclear-armed nation with a highly politicised postcolonial population, is not Cambodia – the hapless country Kissinger and Nixon devastated after failing to make Vietnam fall in line with American national interests. Or that the Pashtuns, though never colonised and hardly ever a nationality, have repeatedly proved more effective than the most organised anti-colonial movements in expelling foreign occupiers from their land.

Unleashing greater firepower on Afghanistan and Pakistan, Obama could have learned from the shrewd psychological realism of his early hero, James Baldwin. “Force,” Baldwin wrote during Kissinger and Nixon’s last desperate assault on Indochina, “does not reveal to the victim the strength of his adversary. On the contrary, it reveals the weakness, even the panic of his adversary and this revelation invests the victim with patience.”

The Taliban, predictably resurgent as a result of Nato’s blunderbuss tactics, may now choose to lie low for a while. The general respite from violence may even prove long enough for Obama’s intellectual courtiers to declare that the surge in Afghanistan has “worked”. As in Iraq, a new cycle of suicide bombings may then begin; but America, and its media, will have already turned away.

The realism of American foreign policy, it seems, can only be selective and ephemeral, as American elites endlessly calibrate their national interests – invading, bombing and abandoning vast regions as they please, leaving other people to pick up the pieces.

Obama’s long speech on Afghanistan barely mentioned Pakistan, which in 2005 suffered a single suicide attack and now – after the intensified American-led or directed assaults on Afghanistan, Swat and Waziristan – suffers several such outrages in a week. In the same speech Obama did not refer even once to India, with which Pakistan has fought three wars over Kashmir, and whose military occupation of the Muslim-majority valley remains the biggest recruiting tool for jihadists in Pakistan, such as those who led the terrorist attack on Mumbai a year ago. (Not much exaggeration is needed to indoctrinate them: an Indian human rights group last week published evidence of the mass graves of nearly 3,000 Muslims allegedly executed over the last decade by Indian security forces near the border with Pakistan.) Obama will of course speak of Afghanistan’s neighbours when another jihadi assault on India, which is very likely, brings India and Pakistan closer to war, endangering America’s campaign against the Taliban and al-Qaida. But it is also true that the historical and geopolitical relationships between India, Pakistan and Afghanistan may be too fraught for American foreign policy realists to reckon with.

In 1971, India facilitated the secession of Pakistan’s easternmost province (now Bangladesh), provoking Pakistan’s humiliated army and intelligence officials to pursue a policy of creating “strategic depth” against India by seeking Pashtun clients inside Afghanistan.

In the 1990s, Pakistani officials who helped supply the mujahideen during the CIA-led anti-Soviet jihad in Afghanistan turned to fuelling the popular insurgency in India-ruled Kashmir, which since 1989 has claimed more than 80,000 lives. Throughout the decade, Pakistan’s highly secretive intelligence agency, the ISI, trained and financed militant Islamist groups for jihad in Kashmir – even as it settled on the Taliban as its proxy in Afghanistan, which had been abruptly abandoned by the US following the Soviet withdrawal.

Obama himself identified Kashmir as the rusty nail in south Asia’s body politic a month before he was elected. Discussing the situation in Afghanistan, he told Joe Klein of Time magazine that “working with Pakistan and India to try to resolve the Kashmir crisis in a serious way” were “critical tasks for the next administration”. But, assuming the presidency, Obama inherited other, more strategic as well as lucrative national interests.

The Bush administration had wished to build up India as a strategic US ally and counterweight to China in Asia. Encouraged by an assertive Indian-American lobby, and American arms manufacturers, Bush offered an exceptionally generous civil nuclear agreement to India – which, unlike Iran, has long refused to sign the non-proliferation treaty. India is now finally an open market for US defence companies: Lockheed Martin alone hopes to cut deals worth $15bn over the next five years.

Of course, as China increasingly underwrites the American economy, notions of “containing” the Middle Kingdom through pro-America allies now look like some idle cold-war game-playing in Condoleezza Rice’s state department. But the Bush administration’s decision to legitimise India’s nuclear status, and to help project the country as a rising superpower, has stoked an old paranoia in Pakistan (and indeed in China, which, breaking from its policy of befriending previously hostile neighbours like Vietnam and Mongolia, has recently assumed its harshest stance towards India in decades).

American officials often complain that Pakistan’s security establishment is “obsessed” with India. Seen through the perspective of American national interests, the obsession seems purely irrational, a frustrating diversion from the urgent task of combating anti-American extremists. But Pakistan sees India as gaining “strategic depth” in its own backyard, using Afghanistan – where India has poured over a billion dollars in aid since 2001 and has four consulates in addition to its embassy in Kabul – to support secessionists in the troubled Pakistani province of Baluchistan.

Pakistan’s leaders – who are convinced that America will abandon Islamabad just as it did Afghanistan after the Soviet withdrawal in 1989 – will play the same charade with Obama that General Musharraf’s foreign minister once frankly described as, “First say yes, and later say but”. They may well launch a few token crackdowns on militants but are unlikely to abandon the possibility of allowing some to remain in order to unleash them, at a later date, on India-ruled Kashmir. As always, the road to stability in Pakistan and Afghanistan runs through the valley of Kashmir; and in making south Asia’s primary conflict disappear, Obama now seems yet another exponent of that exhausted genre of magical realism.

The Guardian & Zionism

The Guardian is edited (and run, via the Scott Trust) by Alan Rusbridger, the Rhodesian heir to C.P. Scott, editor of the Guardian for 57 years, who (in Rusbridger’s words) “fought tirelessly alongside Chaim Weizmann for the creation of the state of Israel.”

Scott was a hardcore Zionist. He met Weizmann on 1914.09.16, and then introduced Weizmann to D. Lloyd George, Herbert Samuel, and other British statesmen; thereby helping Weizmann and his colleagues in their dealings with the British government that led to the Balfour Declaration.

In a letter to Harry Sacher, Scott wrote about Zionism: “To make the Jew a whole Jew…that seems to me sound, at least as an ideal, and there may be a chance now of moving a long way towards it.”

Scott stressed the importance of Palestine for British interests. Scott revealed to Weizmann the details of the Sykes-Picot treaty and thus contributed to its undoing.

Weizmann introduced Vladimir Jabotinsky to Scott, and the Manchester Guardian editorially supported the idea of the Jewish Legion and contributed substantially to its realization.

Scott remained a firm supporter of the Zionist movement and the yishuv in Palestine throughout his life.

In 2001, Rusbridger wrote that present-day Israel reminded him of the last days of Apartheid South Africa.

A hilarious response to this came from Tom Gross in the Judeo-Masonic National Review: “Rusbridger…made no reference to the many progressive elements of Israeli Jewish society…. if Israel is “an affront to civilization” — the headline given to a comment piece written by a former British defense secretary in the Guardian’s sister paper, the Observer — [then why does] Jewish state…have some of the most liberal laws in the world for homosexuals, far more liberal than those in the U.S. and Britain.” As if “some of the most liberal laws in the world for homosexuals” are not “an affront to civilization.”

Irish child caught in the middle of a queer three-way

The Irish Supreme Court has unanimously ruled that a queer father is entitled to “access” his child against the wishes of the child’s mother and her dyke sex-partner.

He is not entitled to guardianship, but has the right “to apply” to be appointed guardian and it is for the courts to decide the issue of guardianship in all the circumstances, with the welfare of the child the paramount consideration, the five-judge court ruled.

The child has lived with his mother and her homo-partner since birth and they have been “a couple” since 1996, taking loving care of the child in a settled environment, Mrs Justice Susan Denham said.

Mr Justice Hugh Geoghegan said access should be limited and that a 2005 agreement under which the man was to have the status of a “favourite uncle” was sensible.

Mr Justice Nial Fennelly, with whom Mr Justice Adrian Hardiman agreed, said the father was largely responsible for the complete breakdown of mutual trust between himself and the couple after the child’s birth in 2006, as the father had departed from the agreement with the couple, claiming he, as the child’s father, should be recognised as the child’s father.

However, the Supreme Court also found the lesbian couple and child are not a family under the Constitution and ruled the High Court erred in finding they are a “de facto family” entitled to invoke family rights under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).

The Constitution has been interpreted by the courts as defining the family as based on the marriage of a man and woman and there is no institution here of a “de facto family”, it said.

The Chief Justice, Mr Justice John Murray, said the ECHR was not generally part of domestic law and not directly applicable and the High Court had no jurisdiction to directly apply the provisions of the convention as it had.

The European Convention on Human Rights Act 2003 did not give direct effect to the convention and the current jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights did not find same-sex partners fall within family life under Article 8.

Mr Justice Fennelly said changes in the ECHR jurisprudence were to be expected and national legislation “might also address these difficult problems”. The mother’s lesbo-partner has no legally or constitutionally recognisable family relationship with the child, he noted. The court was delivering reserved judgments allowing the appeal by the man against the High Court’s refusal of access but rejecting his appeal against the refusal of guardianship. The matter will go back to the High Court to determine access issues unless the sides reach agreement on access.

The father, in his 40s, was in court and his lawyers said he was “very happy” with the outcome. The couple, who took part in a “civil union” ceremony in England, were not in court.

The child was born in 2006 with jizm donated by the man. He and the lesbo-couple had signed a written agreement in 2005 under which the couple were to be the child’s “parents”, and the father was to be known to the child as his father and was to have visiting rights.

Mrs Justice Denham said the fact the man was the biological father was not a determinative factor but, in refusing access, the High Court gave insufficient weight to his status and the fact it generally benefits a child to have the society of their father. It was also relevant the man was not an anonymous sperm donor and had entered a situation where it was anticipated he would have contact with the child.

The agreement between the sides, while not enforceable, showed their intention and was notably signed after pregnancy was confirmed, she added.

The High Court had attached excessive weight to the view of a child psychiatrist that the father should not have any rights that would interfere with the child’s family life with the couple. The psychiatrist recommended against guardianship or access and said he believed the lesbian couple would involve the father in an appropriate way when the boy was older.

Equality group voices concern at Supreme Court decision

GLEN, The Gay and Lesbian Equality Network, said it was very concerned by the Supreme Court decision which “rejects a same-sex headed family as a de facto family”.

GLEN director Brian Sheehan said the judgment highlighted “the importance and urgency of providing legal support and recognition” of the many children being parented by queer couples in Ireland, which he said should form part of the Civil Partnership Bill which is moving through the Dáil.

The decision was welcomed by the Iona Institute, whose director, David Quinn, said: “This decision respects the rights of both fathers and children. A biological father has a right to know and have access to his child, and a child has a right to know and have access to his or her biological father.”

Mr Quinn said it was clear the Government must move to regulate the assisted human reproduction industry and to do so in a way that is fully child-centred.

“The best way to do this is to enshrine in such any regulations the right of a child to be raised by their mother and father,” he said. How radical!

Boy’s birth followed complex search for suitable donor

The poor little boy at the heart of the case was born in 2006 as a result of a sperm donation, following various efforts over three years by the mother to conceive.

The mother, referred to, appropriately, as P, has lived with another carpet-muncher since 1996. Having decided they wished to have a child, the couple in 2003 signed an agreement with JC (not Jesus Christ), a man-queer friend of theirs who lived abroad, for him to be a spunk donor.

Dyke P travelled abroad a number of times in 2003 trying to conceive with the queer. After no success, she sought aid from fertility clinics in Ireland but was refused because she was not in a normal relationship. Since Britain is more perverted, she attended a fertility clinic in London in 2004, with no success. Ignoring this hint from God Almighty, she returned to the arrangement with JC in 2005, for a time, and they yet again went at.

In late 2004, the couple had met another male homo, the appellant, discussed the possibility of his cumming for them, and later gave him a copy of their agreement with JC and a filthy book entitled It’s A Family Affair – The Complete Lesbian Parenting Book.

This queer told the lesbos in March 2005 he no longer wished to be a donor, but then in July 2005 said he wished to proceed. In early August 2005, they amended their agreement with JC to insert the new male homos name, and he made his first jizz donation that evening.

Some two weeks later, the man was told that P was pregnant, and the contract was signed after discussions. Its provisions included that the child would know the man was the biological father, but that the couple would be the parents and the pathetic father would have no responsibility for or financial obligations to the child, but could visit his child at the dykes’ discretion.

The lesbos claim that  the man became irrationally intrusive after the child was born, and they became fearful after he sought to see the child once a month and described himself as “a father”. The parties’ relationship deteriorated. The High Court described the relationship between the father and the mother as “poisonous”, and between him and the other tuppence-licker as one of “armed neutrality”.

The Green Party’s TD Paul Gogarty is displaying that famous irish facility with words in his brilliant riposte to Labour TD Emmet Stagg.

Stagg was found by the Gardaí loitering in an area of Dublin’s Phoenix Park used by male prostitutes. His brother, Frank Stagg, was a Provisional IRA moron who committed suicide by starving himself . Emmet tried to prevent the IRA bastards from stealing Frank’s body by having his grave covered with cement, but they tunneled under the cemetery and made off with the corpse.

Gogarty was forced to apologise for repeated use of what was described as “unparliamentary language”, including the use of “the bad F-word, worse than ‘Feck’.” He yelled “Fuck you, Deputy Stagg. Fuck you.”

Green Party Policies
