Thank you, indeed a necessary informative site, in times of self-censorship and “arrogant” cowardice…
Albeit not being a believer, I endorse your civic effort. Is there any initiative that can be taken collectively? Es. A watchtower of extremism on the web (Califfate sites and the like..). I would gladly consider to help.
Akira, I recently read your pro Russian comments on Brussels Journal and was delighted by such insightfull thoughts, bravery and sense of morality even with “provocateurs” such as “mcarfins”…
I read a bit of your blog and it reveled to be a pleasant surprise.
It is obvious that you are well aware of what’s happening in Europe and I got the idea that you were “kind’a nationalist”.
Thanks for the blog and above else those insightful comments on the Brussels Journal. Just continue your good work!
I can understand why Poles and Estonians and others mistrust or fear Russia, and I don’t support or defend Putin or the Russian government in general.
My concern is with objectivity, rationality, and principals.
I’m actually listening to Radio Poland right now, and for half an hour they’ve been talking about “this attempt to re-create the Soviet Empire”; and detailed reporting of Georgian suffering; and appeals to support Georgia, complete with websites listeners should go to, where they can contribute or express their support for Georgia, and so on. Not once have they mentioned Ossetians or Abkhazians, or the legal and historical context, or examined those people’s rights to independence, or reported about Ossetians or OIS peace keepers killed or injured in Georgian attacks. It’s especially ironic because they criticize Russia for having no press freedom (which is a valid criticism) but they themselves (Radio Poland) don’t take advantage of the press freedom that is legally theirs, and make no mention of Saakashvili’s history of closing down opposition TV stations.
As for America, Canada, Germany, the UK, and the other nations that went to war with Serbs in Bosnia; and that went to war with Yugoslavia in support of “Kosovars”; and that supported the independence of Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia; and that promoted the separation of Serbia and Montenegro; and that supported the “independence” of Kosovo after legally committing themselves to honoring and preserving the territorial integrity of Serbia (and that also supported the independence of Eritrea, and East Timor, and other disputed territories) — “Laughable” is the politest thing one can say about these countries criticizing Russia for being belligerent or “disproportionate”, and their demands that Russia respect Georgian territorial integrity.
And for Sarkozy to go to Moscow as a “Peace Envoy” is an insult, only six months after France, a UN Security Council permanent member, recognized Kosovo’s “independence” in violation of UN Security Council resolution 1244, is hypocrisy of the highest order.
Akira, I don’t doubt your objectivity; when I say your “pro-Russian”, I meant you sided with Russia in this particular crisis. And you do/did it out f your objectivity not because you think Moscow and Saint Petersburg are beautiful cities…
I just saw my article on your blog, and even though I am flattered that you’ve used my work here, I would request you to remove the article from that particular post.
I am a secular person and find religion bashing extremely distasteful. The nature of your post does not go with the content of my article.
I am not questioning your views here, I just do not want to be part of an argument I don’t believe in.
Miss [?] Kaleem is referring to Bradford, Pakistan, in which I quote how she describes how emigrating from Lahore to Bradford, “the ultimate desi hub of England”, was like travelling to what used to be called the third (or fourth…, or fifth…) world.
Dear Amna,
Perhaps you regret being so honest.
I made sure not to quote you out of context.
Unfortunately, whatever your intentions, you have engaged in fair reportage, describing how a formerly grimy but pleasant English industrial town has been transformed into a grimy, unpleasant cesspit of Islamic irredentism, where the invaders (okay, granted, the treasonous UK administrators have actually welcomed the horde in), “obstinately resist integration” in an “irrational” manner, as you put it. (Actually, it’s probably quite rational, since the goal is domination.)
As you say, “The narrow mindedness and double standards that plague Pakistani society exist here in abundance.”
If you don’t like being quoted then I suggest you stop writing, or perhaps do what most Muslims (and non-Muslims condemned to have grown up under Islamic domination) do: just lie, all day, every day, in every way. I believe it’s called taqiyya.
Perhaps you could write another article, recanting your previous exposé, and try to convince people that Bradford has not in fact been “~Stanisized“, and that Pakistanis are not actually “narrow minded” and do not engage in “double standards”, but are a fair-minded and tolerant people who can only be a benefit to their newly-conquered territory. The Archbishop of Canterbury and Blair and Brown and that fornicating ass-hat big-eared pontificating twit Prince Upchuck would be only too happy to help you in such propaganda activities.
Or you’re worried that the slavish British authorities will prosecute you for some sort of “Hate Crime” for reporting facts?
I deeply sympathize with your plight, but I’m afraid it’s too late to worry about that, since the posts have already been cachéd in the internet ether. I would advise you to change your name to some non-distinct English name like Enoch Powell or Mavis Sharples, and hide in some part of Britain that hasn’t been infested with Islam. (Is there such a sanctuary?) Or perhaps share a flat with your buffoonish compatriot Salman Rushdie and MI5. On second thoughts, you might be safer in Pakistan…
God bless you, secular child of the universe. (Out of curiosity, are you, perhaps, in fact, a “Muslim secularist”, too attached to your neck to actually outright apostatize?)
I have discussed the cultural segregation of the Pakistani diaspora, leaving out the religious aspects. The reason for doing so was not the fear of my ‘throat-slitting’ compatriots, but an aversion to attacking religions.
I do not regret writing the article, let me assure you I stand by every word I wrote. I just regret such interpretation. But as a writer, I think, I will have to allow you that.
As far as my religious beliefs go, I don’t think it matters whether I believe or don’t believe in a religion.
Isn’t it difficult, or impossible, to discuss Pakistani culture without discussing Islam, since The Pure Country’s very raison d’etre is precisely to be a Muslim nation?
Was it not founded on the principle that Muslims cannot live with others as equals?
Well, what do I know?
Anyway, to clarify, I wouldn’t really say I “attack” Islam (which, BTW, I would say is more of an ideology than a “religion”), but rather, that Islam condemns itself as a Satanic force in the world by its own evil precepts.
I never implied or intended to imply that you shared my rational conclusions about the evil, inhumane nature of Islam.

I BELIEVE
✝
In one God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
✝
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only-begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not made, of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; of His kingdom there shall be no end.
✝
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke by the prophets.
✝
In one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church; I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins; I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come. Amen.

Leonardo,
Check out the links at the right side of my site, especially Jihad Watch, Gates of Vienna, and The Brussels Journal.
Do you know of any good Italian sites dealing with these problems?
