The execution-style murder of Paul Johnson has been condemned by the Organization of the Islamic Conference. According to Amnesty International, more than half of those beheaded between 1990 and 1999 were foreign nationals, and some were Christian missionaries. Why has the Saudi government not returned those bodies to their loved ones for proper burial?
In Saudi Arabia, heads roll for sodomy, armed robbery, murder, and for being a Christian. Some Christians were beheaded after having been falsely accused of drugs or other crimes reportedly as benign as leading a Bible study or offering prayers. Saudis that convert to Christianity, or “desert Islam,” are subject to the death penalty, as well.
Those condemned to death are taken to a public square blindfolded after midday prayers, hands tied behind their backs and forced to kneel facing Mecca. The police clear the square of all traffic and lay a blue plastic sheet 16-feet square on the ground. The executioner swings the sword two or three times before jabbing the poor soul in the back to force him to raise his head. More than 100 people have been beheaded in Saudi since 9-11, and the vast majority were not members of al-Qaida!
I, too, am outraged, not only by the beheading of Paul Johnson, but by the Saudi PR-machine that has hypocritically expressed its disgust over this barbarism. It is, indeed, the theater of the absurd and a festival of hypocrisy.
In 1991 during the Persian Gulf War, I preached the gospel in the center of Dhahran. U.S. military police grabbed me and screamed, “Are you nuts? They will cut your head off, you fool!” Days later, I shared Christ with Gen. Khalid. He looked at me and asked, “Are you trying to convert me? We cut off heads for that.”
Islam is portrayed as a religion of tolerance. How ignorant can we be? Women cannot drive cars in Saudi Arabia, girls are still circumcised, political parties and trade unions are outlawed, the church and state are one in Saudi Arabia. Do not hold your breath while searching for a Christian church or Jewish synagogue in that country; you will suffocate.

It would be crazy to deal with such a clitoris, which does not protrude to an extent that might bother the woman, when it rubs against her clothing and so on…
All these things appear in Islamic law. Don’t think we are making these things up. It all exists [in religious law] and is determined… We say that if the clitoris is so on and so forth… What am I saying? When the Prophet Muhammad met Umm Salama in Al-Madina – what did he say to her? “Are you still doing what you used to do in Mecca?” In other words, are you still circumcising girls, like you used to do in Mecca? She said: Yes. He said: “Trim it, but don’t cut it off.” According to another version, he said: “Shorten it, but don’t cut it off.” “Trim it” means leaving room for sexual desire. That little bit on top, which looks like the rooster’s crest, is shortened, but just the upper part. She needs to cut off the prepuce, the little bit at the top.

I am a devout christian and working in a muslim country.Let me just share the experiences I had w/ muslims here.
* while taking a cab, the driver (a muslim from a neighboring country), asked if I liked americans and/or america in general. Not knowing how to answer his question (not because I liked america or not,just that I really haven’t thought of it…),I simply asked him back the same question. And in his best english, he said: “americans bad people. Bush bad man.” Eager to know the reason why, I pressed on, in the crudest english I can so he understands me : “why?”. The driver stared at me so long I thought he forgot he was driving. Man, I felt his sudden animosity! He blurted: “Are you christian?” Now, what does that have to do with me liking (or not) america? I fully think these people, w/ very little education, were led into believing the equation America=Christianity= Enemy.
* Buying a can of coke from a grocer one day, I stepped out to find an elderly man of Indian decent being bullied by local teenagers on bicycles. One of them hit the man w/ the handlebars of his bike while the others shouting vile words at the poor soul. I felt the urge to stop them but remembered the “trysts” my friends had w/ this kids, I stopped nearby and pretended talking on the phone making sure they hear what I am saying, and mentioned the address as if giving direction to a police. Luckily it worked. The kids took off w/ their bikes. But I can never forget the words they were shouting: ” Allahu Akhbar! F*&#ing christians!!” What’s their point? I bet these kids don’t have half an idea of how vile those words are to a christian. I wanted to shout back, or better yet, run after them, grab one and smack’em for not having been desciplined and brought upright by parents who are too busy thinking about their booming businesses in a country too progressive for it’s own good. But my patience got the better of me. I took the indian guy to a nearby clinic. And when the doctor asked what’s wrong w/ him, I turned to go and said: ” He’s not muslim…”
I am a christian in a muslim world. And I am half american. Call it double trouble. But I have a lot of muslim friends here also. People who are reasonable and w/ a wider perspective and not confined to the teachings of an anti-american terrorist who desguises himself to be a “so-called Iman”.

I remember getting very upset around twenty years ago about Jehovah’s Witnesses. I thought their deceptions were the most important thing for me to fight against. Then at a Christian conference (I forget who was leading it) I heard someone say, ‘Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons are not the cults we should be worried about. The thing we should be worried about is Islam.’ I see now that this is true, but whilst I agree that the religion is totally wrong and also responsible for some appalling atrocities and hatreds, I feel God saying that we should fight this evil with love. that does not, of course, mean sitting back and smiling submissively, but love is a verb, and there is power in love. I agree with your anger at Islam, but we surely must declare the power of Gid’sa love and life-changing power to Muslims. Those girls were beheaded because they believed in the message of the gospel. It is this gospel that muslims fear and which we must preach.

I’m a christian living in Indonesia. More than 90% Indonesian are moslem.
They divided by several categories (not really just in their behaviour and perception of their religy). Some of them have pluralism opinion. They no problem if we not moslem too. Their behave as if they not moslem. Just moslem in their identity card. Some of them in the middle way. sometimes do their religion rules, sometimes not. Some other really understand and consistent to do their religion rules, but still tolerance with other religions. The last is very dangerous. They have their own perception and opinion about moslem way. Jihad, in their mind as “kill your enemy”. They hate to other religy especially to christians and western world.
We, as Christ disciples, have to pray for them. Not only them, but also other people who not in Christ love. People who not believed Jesus Christ as the saviour. Jesus who pay their sins and mistakes with his blood and his live for they can pay it by their self action.
Pray them and hate their way. But not hate them. Jesus died for them too. Debates have no usefull, only love and pray can reach them. Are you agree with me?

If a book that theaches hate acceptable to some then they too are terrorist and breed hatered and biased oppinions, not facts. Religion is used to create morals and social obligation. Muslims teach the dehumanizing of women, hate for other races and cultures and caos.
If covering one’s head is to make a women equal to men then women are already being looked down upon if they must try to gain equialty. Parts of our towns and cities are known as a muslim communities but didnt it start of as our own area they are moving around the world setteling and converting people to hate then they will move on to then next part.

I live up here in Alberta Canada and ran across this blog on the Internet and could not help but become interested. I have no religion but I find religion absurd. I read this entire site and could not beleive some of the things people are saying to one another. All people on earth are created equal in my opinion and portraying Musslim people like this is absolutly dreadfull. You really only inspire hatred/anger/intolerance and therefore perpetuate the same problem from where these acts originate. You add fuel to the fire and do more harm than good.
In relation to the hate that you state is part of the Muslim belief. Doesn’t the old testament preach “An eye for an eye”?…we know that hate only spreads hate, and are therefore conscient that this passage is fundamentally wrong…but it is still included in the Christian/Hebrew Bible…Does this passage reflect the belief of every Christian/Jew on the planet? Of course it doesn’t!
The underlying esence of all religious books is simple…We must have faith in our fellows, no matter what color or creed…

An eye for an eye is a principe of retributive justice. It asserts a punishment for a crime. It is an attempt at Justice, not Hate.
Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Law.
Jesus Christ said: “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.”
He didn’t say that we have no enemies. He didn’t say “Shut up and don’t criticize blasphemers, criminals and devil-worshippers.”

for starters, im a catholic. so to be quite honest- taht’s just what ive been taught. not nessecerally believe that there’s god and angels and and jesus, and all those things.
but
to be killing and beheading children, and putting them throughh pain IS messed up.
ive never been cercumcised, and im glad that ive never been, i appreciate that religeons that have this is a neccecity, but i would imagine having my cliterous cut off would be painful as HELL, so why make a child be put through it?? i understand taht its to make them see taht sex isnt a good thing to be had out of just pleasure.
but why not make them have go to youth clubs about these things from a young age? it worked for me! i want to have sex when i have a hhusband and in a stable relationship and not with anyone out of fun. its a serious thing- but pain isnt the way forward…personally thought.
and religeon- at teh end of teh day- is not judging on you as a person. be compasionate, loving, mercyfull and understanding. and not so stubborn and accept the difference of other. THAT’S the improtance of life. not to be counting how many times you pray.

Under assault for 1300 years: Ethiopia. According to official stats it is about 80% Christian and 10-15% Muslim. Some people however claim that it is really 50% Muslim now.

Just looking at some of the pics and reading some of the comments sends shivers down my spine. Is this the Religion the Prophets in the Koran Preached??? Why is there so much hate? Hate for Christians, Jews or other non-Muslim Human beings by the Muslims? If, like Akira explained earlier, a Christian kills or rapes or tortures a muslim or for that matter any other human being he/she is a BAD Christian, and No he doesn’t deserve mercy, but are you allowed to kill or torture innocent humans in the name of your religion just because some maniac killed your people??? This is so Barbaric, so inhuman, so….. undescribably cruel act. Isn’t there a quote or two in the Koran that is against this acts???

Quran is not revealed by the god. Muhammad lied things in Quran so he can conquer lands and enjoy women.
–That was a sick joke. nyways…I haeppened to read Quran (Though not completely) and it has some good things and some bad things. It has a huge list of ‘good’ dos and don’ts and a list of bad ‘dos and don’ts. But the problem is, no Muslim ever practices the good dos and donts.
Muslims fornicate, drink, lie, steal, cheat, speak rude, fight and do everything un-islamic even among themselves.
Of course, when it comes to others, they do a lot of other bad ethings.
Now, there’s something interesting going on…Muslims tend to be habitual liars (I’m not talking about that 2% educated elites). Especially muslim media/newspapers and their institutions have lost credibility.
Funniest thing is, Islam is the only religion that talks of Ummah and takes it seriously. But, they’re the ones most divided.
Sunnis don’t like Shia, Ahmadi, Sufi etc.

Wahhabis don’t like anyone but for Wahhabis.
Muslims are more racists than anyone else, while their religion forbids racism.
